    AGFA 44s Imagesetter Polarizer Jam

The polarizer is a rotating wheel reducing the laser beam intensity according to the exposure level required. This disc is part of the Spot Generation Module on the carriage and not easily accesible. It seems the motor or polarizer sensor has a problem. Haver you tried restarting the imagesetter.

    Uv plates discontinued

Correct. Violet photopolymer plates require 35-55 microJoules/sqcm, that's less than 60 microwatts reading on a laser power meter right above the plate emulsion. Some digital UV plates are sensitive to UV up to and including visible domain 400-405 nm but they need 50-60 mJ/sqcm we're talking...

Should be ok just go slowly. Put path down.

    Uv plates discontinued

I reckon you meant violet plates since you refer to Palladio. This Agfa ctp was indeed based on the 2055 platerite but cannot be retrofitted with an infrared laser instead of the 405 nm visible wavelength laser diode such an advice is unprofessional.

    Topsetter error E04 help

Seems to be Exe04 excessive current in the LD driver board 4, if so check the laser diodes Iop values and make sure flat (FPC) connectors on cables going into the RH are correctly attached as sometimes they make poor contact forcing the driver to increase current to the limit - diode...

    Topsetter error E04 help

ctptech, e04 is meaningless, the code must be 4-5 digits depending on model and firmware so ask your customer for the complete error code or post a screenshot of information > error log display. Can be anything really ... exposure head problem, leadscrew positioning fault, data path problem...

    Thin lines appearing on plates

I would put a USB microscope on the plate. What offset machine do you use ? Who checked the machine ... the pressmen themselves ? I say Alois is right, leave the affected plate(s) on the cylinder and check the blankets for damage or metal flecks possibly embedded into rubber using a magnifier...

    Thin lines appearing on plates

Has nothing to do with the plate itself, these appear to be scratches down to bare aluminium and holding ink during printing. Look for whatever can cause such mechanical abrasion during plate mounting or press run. Does it come up on all colour units if several ? In same place ? I agree with...

firmware of Agfa Avalon Screen 4300

You must get an Agfa specialist on site for this, look into neighbouring countries. The firmware update procedure is a lot more complicated than just downloading one package setup into the machine. There are several firmware components for various boards and versions refer to specific hardware...

    Heidleberg trendsetter

Not a trivial thing to do, he can easily mess up the carriage. Described as regular pattern across all image looks more like imaging artifacts, exposure head setup is the prime suspect.

ctptech, azura thermofuse plates TE, TS, TU are all negative working, laser writes the image. Recording head alignment is required as 'mud' said and laser exposure energy checked.

Paper production in Italy haunted by Russia sanctions

Gordo I personally wouldn't trust this source of information... a blog of unknown origin with a handful of mostly anti-american articles going back to February 2022 and a link to russia today with an expired website certificate on top of all smells like propaganda from a mile away.

Agfa Accuset 1400 Plus - how to connect?

Agfa Accuset 1400 Plus - how to connect?

The internal rip has an APIS 37-pin interface, a Centronics parallel 18 pin interface, Ethernet 15-pin, a serial comm DB25 and an AppleTalk old-style 15 pin RS422. You must connect an ethernet trasceiver to RG coax 75-ohms terminated or UTP 10Base-T and check if it responds from an old Mac...

    Topsetter 74 autoloader error

vance, you will notice some sensors have a sensitivity trimmer you can play with and check the LED sensor switching state on and off. Can also change sensor distance to target and/or parameters in software before deciding the sensor is damaged, matter of fact they rarely need to be replaced. One...
