Trendsetter News 2637 AL - Autoload Plate Picker Timing Out

A Kodak trained engineer would be helpful but my 2 cents anyway, vacuum seems to be building up too slowly either because of a worn out pump or a leak somewhere. Is there a vaccum sensor you can monitor during the loading stage ? I keep a small vacuum gauge minus 5 bar on the dial in my toolbox...

Solids appear lighter in leading edge

Confirm plate dot percentage uniformity with a plate reader top to bottom on plate. Bad uniformity is not uncommon on certain types of platesetters (you didn't say what type of plate and ctp you use).

Banding on agfa azura TS plates

Chris, 175 is pretty much standard no worries the plate can easily go up to 200 lines. Bear in mind it's a negative plate i.e. laser writes the image. It requires quite a lot of energy around 200 mJ/sqcm so this may be your problem. Raise the laser intensity and/or decrease drum speed. Last but...

Please Help! Screen Platerite 4300S leaving line at the edge of sheet?

Worth checking though. I second that. Not a workaround but common practice for many.

Please Help! Screen Platerite 4300S leaving line at the edge of sheet?

3 days spent means you already checked the 1bit tiff file in preview and it's clean. Does the line move on plate if you select a different press sheet size ? Try other1bit tiff export settings in RB i.e. encoding, byte order, compression algorithm a.s.o.

Agfa Xcalibur 45E Aluminum Error A0581

VCP sensor trigerred incorrectly. Can be a faulty sensor or the board. A harness problem is unlikely. Activate each sensor manually using any suitable means and monitor the voltage output from the sensor. Best to use a scope for fast response or DMM with bargraph. Even something old school like...

    AGFA & FUJIFILM CTP Devices

Not familiar with these two models but generally speaking Fuji and Agfa have sold the same base machines manufactured by Screen but they were never identical. Most internal parts are similar but both vendors add certain hardware features, let alone the (significant) firmware specifics.

CtcP (visble plate) vs CtP (thermal plate)

There are lots of conventional and thermal plates available, each with its own set of specifications. Thermal plates (same goes for CTcP) can be very different in emulsion coating sensitivity, guaranteed run length in printing, uv compatible or not, resolution range, pricing, local availability...

Plates Peeling off and Not Picking Ink

Hi ighodaro, You clearly have a bad batch of plates - either a manufacturing problem or plates being stored in a VERY humid environment for a long time. Interleaf paper creased or stuck to plates indicate too high humidity. I have never seen anything like this myself as I have only used Kodak...

Plates Peeling off and Not Picking Ink

Poor focus, insufficient laser intensity or low preheat have to do with excessive image wear during the run. Emulsion coming off the substrate I believe points to a bad batch of plates. When you say it peels off how does the plate look exactly, is it in large random areas ? Just short streaks...

ECRM Mako 4x, G&J processor, AGFA Chemistry Questions

Violet plate processing is as stable as you care keeping the machine within specs. I agree violet processors do need more maintenance than others but again, has nothing to do with stability. Linearization is the way to go. The man says they have a prepress bureau there, no offset machines of...

ECRM Mako 46 have a problem

Evir, you are looking in the wrong place. The segmented drive system cannot, repeat, cannot seize this bad without putting an encoder or drive motor error. Your banding as I see is most likely caused by the film processor rollers, check the roller drive gears in the dev section they must turn...

Screening / imagesetter / press problem?

The Avantra max addressable resolution is 3600 which also tells me ruthndull does not have much control over what's happening in the prepress/imagesetter dept.

Screening / imagesetter / press problem?

You should have posted pictures of the films and or plates. Printed sheet is not relevant. What angles is you spot colour plate ? K seems 45. Did you see artifacts e.g. banding on previous jobs ? Off topic there's no real benefit exposing film at 3600 for your Itek ... the 150 lines screening is...

    Magenta plate going blind

Bren, the plate should come up clean if properly processed. What type of plates do you use ? Rinsing the plate again then gumming may improve the hydrophilic properties of non-image areas but have little to no effect on image.

Lino-type Hell , Herkules Pro problem , Mirror Motor error

Heidelberg and Mitsubishi driving to a merger?

It seems to be about driving indeed... but nothing to do with Heidelberg Druckmaschinen. Coincidentally this car dealer company is based in Heidelberg Road, Melbourne. False alarm.
