    Another newspaper folds

I really love my quiet time with the paper and a cup of coffee in the mornings. Even if it is old news that happened a day or two earlier. I understand that news is consumed in an entirely different way today as a result of an internet and communications capable of delivering what happened 10...

    Another newspaper folds

Will chime in here. Orlando Florida, the Orlando Sentinel, one of the properties of the Chicago Tribune, closed its downtown publishing plant years ago. The paper is published in Lakeland, Fl about an hour and a half away, also by Gannett (publisher of USA Today)

    The Company Strategy

Why.......Yes! Yes I am! How nice of you to notice! Remember, it's a secret, so, dont spread it around. If our competitor finds out and starts doing the same thing, we're basically screwed.

    The Company Strategy

Looking back on my corporate days, cant believe there is so much bull sh-t involved. What's your corporate goal? Um, to make money. What's your corporate strategy? Umm..to sell stuff for more than it costs me to produce it? What's your company's mission statement? Ummm....to make money...

Ok,ok,ok. If you think it'll help, I'll let you in on it. But, please, this is highly confidential. Shsssh. Not a word of this is to leave this room. The Company's goal and strategy is: (whispering) Increase profitability by increasing market share.

    Need templates with postal regulations

Not really a fan of templates, as, they really don't tell you everything you need to know as well as being somewhat confusing about what you do need to know. Not to mention, that, when regulations change (which happens more frequently than you might think), they seldom ever update the template...

    Inflation-Deflation

Ok, let me get this straight. I need a raise because I cant afford to live on what you're paying me. But, you're saying that the raise would make things worse. Guess I need to turn in my resignation and take the offer from your competitor who wants to pay me twice what you're.paying me. Hope...

    The Negotiation

Oh yeah, the beauty of it is that you're taking advantage of auto dealers, who make a living taking advantage of consumers. In the words of Bret Maverick from the movie "Maverick:: "There is no more deeply religious moving experience, than cheatin' on a cheater"

I worry about you Priceline. This was not a "wild claim". If you do the math, you'll see that it was simply a spin on the old grocery store "Double the price, then put it on BOGO sale". Only better. At 50-cents each back then (when 3rd class postage was around 10-cents each), we were making...

    The Negotiation

Getting back to the original post, the gullibility of the average human being never ceases to amaze me. Back in the 90's (when postage was cheaper) we were doing mail for automobile dealerships that averaged about 50-cents each, out the door, including postage. We would normally do 10,000...

    The Negotiation

It's been that way since the beginning of civilization. Communism, Socialism, Capitalism. Take your pick. Is one any better than the other? Perhaps we should look to AI to finally tell us what works best? But then, AI would become the bourgeoisie (upper class) and we would still be the...

    The Negotiation

I get where you're coming from, but, it just sounds so "Un-American" to me. In a capitalistic society, corporations are supposed to charge "whatever the market will bear", and, those at the top are supposed to make as much as their agents can get them.
