Epson WT7900 - white ink cracking, ink cartridge errors

Thanks! We've actually been shaking the white ink cartridges once a week since we got the proofer two years ago. We don't have metallic inks. Does it make any difference to shake the other cartridges (CMYKOG)?

Epson WT7900 - white ink cracking, ink cartridge errors

Thanks! I've also notified our vendor, so we'll see what they come up with. The ink limit idea makes sense. I'm not sure why We're driving the proofer with EFI ColorProof XF 4.5, and there's a spot in the output devices where you can control the white ink coverage. I've played around with it...

Epson WT7900 - white ink cracking, ink cartridge errors

Hello! We have had an Epson WT7900 for about two years. Lately, we've noticed a couple issues that we haven't been able to completely eradicate: 1. When we print color ink on top of white ink, those areas looked kind of "cracked". Haven't noticed any issues when there's no other ink printing...

font message in acrobat--OS X 10.7.4, Illustrator .pdf, Suitcase Fusion 4, OTF font

Thanks for the reply--that isn't the issue, though. Here's what I get: The ones I circled are actually Open Type Fonts, not Type 1 fonts--however, Acrobat recognizes them as Type 1 (Illustrator recognizes them just fine as Open Type Fonts). I just updated Suitcase to 15.0.2 build 462.

font message in acrobat--OS X 10.7.4, Illustrator .pdf, Suitcase Fusion 4, OTF font

Hello! Lately, I've been getting a font blowout when making proofing and print-ready .pdf files from Illustrator: Converting the fonts to outlines in Illustrator before making the .pdf is a workaround, but I can't figure out the root cause. We recently upgrade to Suitcase Fusion 4 (logged a...

    Warping/Distortion in Illustrator or InDesign?

Another tidbit: if you have any linked images in Illustrator, I believe they have to be embedded before the Warp effect works on them.

    Color Proofing out of Calibration

Probably you've done these things on the 7800 already, but just in case: Run a nozzle check: Menu/Test Print/Nozzle Check/Print Do a power cleaning: Menu/Maintenance/Power Cleaning Our 7880 has color banding occasionally, and without warning. We just run a nozzle check and that usually fixes...

Print-ready pdfs - shadows around linked .psd files

The .pdf file hasn't been run through a trapping workflow yet--this is happening when I save an .ai file as a .pdf. Is there a trapping engine native to Illustrator that I'm unaware of?

Print-ready pdfs - shadows around linked .psd files

Illustrator CS 5.1 We're using a custom .pdf preset--here's a screenshot of the compression section: Let me know if this helps.

Print-ready pdfs - shadows around linked .psd files

Hello! We are having the occasional issue with our print-ready .pdf files (that we generate out of Illustrator). Whenever the .ai file contains a linked .psd, we end up with a small grayish CMYK "shadow" where the .psd art ends and the vector art begins (in the .pdf only): We can't figure...

More frustrations with our printer in China

For what it's worth... For what it's worth... I've never dealt with direct printing on corrugated cardboard before, so I'm not sure what the conventional printing methods are for it, but... We print narrow-web labels using polymer-based flexo (a "rubber plate," if you will) and letterpress...

From Nexus to RAMpage - has anyone done it?

Hello! Has anyone out there gone from EskoArtworks' Nexus software to RAMpage? How's it working out for you? I work at a small label printing company that currently runs EskoArtworks' Nexus software for ripping to plates. Our printing processes are about 50% wide format offset and 50% narrow...
