I mean, isn't that a good thing though? If we're gonna have criminals I'd rather them be dumb as rocks and get caught.

    Canon C10000VP VS Ricoh 9200

It goes down a lot for really annoying things. Like random heat sensors, belts will wander off and cause the machine to code out. Certain gears are prone to fail. It prints very poorly on textured media, even with voltage adjustments. I feel like I see a tech at least once every 2 weeks at a...

I'm not Craig, but our shop orders Topkote from Spicer's and it's never given us issues.

    Canon C10000VP VS Ricoh 9200

I'm not a massive fan of my 10k, but all your weird power concerns and fuser issues are extremely baseless. The fusers almost never need much of any maintenance, and if they do the tech usually has a spare on hand and will swap them and do a rebuild in his own time. We run 100+ cover stock with...

Suggestions for Replacing Indigo with Toner press

If you print on any kind of textured media and uncoated stocks I'd do some thorough testing on those as well. I really don't like Canon's image quality on uncoated stocks, but man it looks gorgeous on coated media.

    Ricoh Drum Life Question...

Xerox is the only one I'm aware of that has the fusers and drums as a user replaceable item. Our Canon Imagepress is rated for like 250,000 impressions, but at the same time, if it's damaged it's a service call. I think Xerox decided it was cheaper to make poorer quality drums, but save service...

    Folding and Grain...

If this is digital then I'm not surprised at all. It sounds to me like you're using finishing equipment designed for traditional print and not digital. A score and a crease aren't the same thing. If you use something designed for digital print you should be able to fold clean no matter the grain...

    FusionPro

Sounds like a lazy excuse. We use Jetletter on PC which also does everything in PDFs and it's incredibly fast on an old PC (i5 2500 with 4gb ram and a standard hdd).

I am not a fan of anything about ours. What are you planning on using it for?

What's Driving Mac vs. PC Purchasing Today?

That's on the crappy manufacturer, not the OS. If you stick to brand name hardware the driver support is perfectly fine. Besides that, how often does some MacOS update totally brick the Creative Suite until there's a patch?

What's Driving Mac vs. PC Purchasing Today?

Most designers I've worked with are all on the Mac ecosystem. If we tried to force them to PCs they would likely complain forever about it. I think a PC is always the cheaper option, and oddly all the RIP and print drivers all clearly made for the PC with a massive "I guess we'll make a barely...

    More V180 problems

That's not faded. You're using a dot pattern to create a grey on a thin font so it will appear washed out or pixelated. You might have some success with different halftone screen settings in the fiery.

    HELP with a print problem!!!

Printed fine on my Imagepress750... I would guess it's what gregbatch said. Usually I see stuff like this when I use a hotfolder, but it goes away when I print with the print driver instead.

    Digitally printed micro perforated sheets

We've done it a few times on Canon equipment, mostly for tickets. If there's heavy coverage on the perf line it won't play down toner well, but it's never torn or caused jams.

    Quick Question - Click Charge

I'd check your fiery settings. I haven't used fiery in a few years, but I recall there being something like "print black as rich black" or something along those lines. This link might help. http://help.efi.com/cws/6.0/en-us/GUID-52B8D3D4-2D2D-459B-9AD0-5C1F8782B31E.html

Synthetic media and window envelopes for Xerox Versalink C9000

In my experience it's usually the flap or where the folds on envelopes meet that cause issues. If your dealer says it can't run envelopes he's not saying it for no reason. I wouldn't expect it to work.

    Ricoh 7200 Keeps Hesitating...

Set it to the next weight up is all I mean. Sorry, my machine considers 151gsm to be 100#t, 148 it would round down to a lighter weight. I don't have a Fiery, so I don't know what all the weight settings match up to.
