    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

See pg 8 Usability from KMBS C6100 brochure "APPE 4.2 (Adobe PDF Print Engine 4.2) bypasses the printer driver to directly process PDF files for appropriate reproduction of transparency.ˋ I also noticed similar statement in fieryˋs documentation. We generally print PDFs 99% of the time...

Pay Per Click vs Pay Per Visit

I have been watching this video: KM Accurio Press Review My expectation from digital printing manufacturers is that they are designing super reliable equipment that requires minimal maintenance and is rock solid. Thirty years ago a book printer friend of mine suggested Minolta printers (pre...

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

Our files come from illustrator/photoshop and 600+dpi. How can they not be soo huge esp when printing press quality as opposed to 72dpi and less? Usually cover art alone is 1 GB.

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

Is there ANY reason to buy KMBS controller over the fiery? I had that hot desking option 5-10 years ago and it never worked on my bizhub devices. Back then ripping 1+ gb files over the network would crash the gigabit network. We had to go away from that and use the KMBS driver. Also, even my...

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

So I talked with fiery expert and he claims having a Minolta C6100 and using kmbs controller is like having a Lamborghini and putting a yugo engine in it. He was claiming that kmbs does not have a way to put spectrometer on it to color calibrate. The kmbs manual says differently. I think we...

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

I thought I overpaid as I usually pay around $5k for production printers BUT I needed 400 gsm duplex capability.

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

That's been my problem. Trying to find controller for reasonable price on used market. I think there are very few C6100/6085s on the market. Currently leaning to kmbs controller even though its costing slightly more. It looks less cumbersome and simpler to use. We have very few print jobs...

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

We need to print on 355gsm. Local KMBS branch would not put a contract on a C2070/C3070 machine with our 18pt cardstock. I managed to find a brand new C6100 at an auction for less than $10k BUT missing paper tray and print controller. I keep looking for a used print controller but NO luck for...

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

Thanks I was watching KMBS controller this morning trying to make sense of the interface (similar to bizhub but much more graphical). I didn't realize fiery command workstation videos are on youtube. I thought they would be different for specific print manufacturers.

    Fiery vs KMBS print controller

We are not in the printing business. We print our packaging materials and perfect bound books in house. Our volumes are pretty low (100k annually). Although we desire to increase that someday by printing more books. Currently most of our print jobs are 13x19" double sided thickest sheets...

Chicago PT: Minolta technician C6100 setup/maintenance

I have a contract job for a KMBS printer technician setting up and maintaining a C6100 production press with Perfect Binder. We want to self service the machine and not be under contract. PM for more info. We may consider remote help at very low rate.

Screens for Fiery or just Remote Desktop?

Minolta C6100. The fiery's are external but the Minolta Controller runs $8k and is embedded. I don't have either. For production printers Minolta does not include a controller. For the Bizhub line they do. I believe they used to call it emperon controller. It really irritates me that they...

Screens for Fiery or just Remote Desktop?

Printing packaging... 10-20 files repeatedly thousands per. Minolta charges $10k for embedded controller for print production devices. Costing me more than the printer to just print ~20 files even 40. It seems like such a waste. Normally I would buy a used one but since this is a top end...

    SERVERLESS PRINTING!

I have 3 bizhub machines, 1 C6000 and 1 C6100 (needs print controller). This is listed for scanner but I don't have a scanner on my C6100 but I do have display. From Minolta brochure: "The AccurioPress C6100/C6085’s new high-speed duplex scanner, with enhanced Open API and IWS applications...

I see KM has this for their bizhub line and was wondering if such a thing exists for their Accuriopress line. This eliminates the need of a print controller. NO PRINT SERVER REQUIRED

We do very few print jobs, is there a way to rip them on the cloud and send it to our printer? I would love to save on the expensive print controller.

Keep us updated as I am about to buy a fiery for my C6100 (one model higher than the C3080. I have had soo many nightmares with my previous 4 fiery's that I am hoping to do something else now.

OKI DATA AMERICAS ANNOUNCES END-OF-LIFE NOTIFICATION FOR OKI-BRANDED HARDWARE

That sucks... My first Oki was 30 years ago and I got a C911 6 years ago to do thick jobs. We were able to hack it so it can use aftermarket toner. OKI was really ripping off on the prices of toners and it eats toner like no other machine I have ever seen.
