    Chillers - Function and installation.

When a chiller is installed with the plate processor, its function is to keeps the temperature of the developer within the required limits. The heater in the developer comes on in "bursts" while the chiller is constantly ON.

    Duotone ... how?

This may be obvious to many, but I think it should be mentioned: Photoshop has an Image Mode"Duotone" offering selection and viewing of the results with any additional spot color. This may certainly help in evaluating different options.

    Duotone ... how?

Google "Pantone color and black selector". That guide was mainly useful for choosing a desirable combination of 2 screen tints.

Agfa Rapiline 66 Instruction Manual required

Great. Thank you Chris, these manuals and diagrams contain valuable info and will certainly help. I also wish to thank our member Maxon for the Agfaline and Rapiline manuals he kindly sent me. All these will be very helpful, however they refer to newer models, so I still wish to get more info...

Agfa Rapiline 66 Instruction Manual required

Trying to help revive an old film processor. I do hope someone still has a user/service manual. I guess manuals for other models of the Rapiline/Luth line of film processors will be useful as well. TIA

Some fonts are clear and some small fonts are broken.

Are these images on film? What do you see under a powerful magnifier? Out of focus or plain "fog"?

    @BartS Was the problem solved?

    Problem with halftone screens

I will be very surprised if this problem is entirely from the new HNS film. Try to re-calibrate at your normal laser intensity (120?) and normal resolution (2400?), and run some tests with different spinner speeds.

Did you manage to fix the problem?

    We cant get solid film

May I suggest a methodical elimination. First - to determine if the problem comes from the processor or the imagesetter: Draw out a piece of film, expose it to daylight and insert it directly into the processor. (Depending on the results you may also need do an extra test. Darken the area and...

    We cant get solid film

On this pict I can't see any graphic or imaged area at all, so it looks as if the film wasn't held flat on the drum. Could be a "fly-off". The vacuum may have failed.

    Problem with halftone screens

You can also try to slow down your processor so as to prolong the development time (you may also need to lower developer temperature if you suspect over-development). This should remedy the softness in those dots. BTW, I don't believe HNS emulsion contains more Silver then HND. Quite the...

    Problem with halftone screens

Try to compare the results of the dots on the HND and HND films under a high powered magnifier/microscope (x25 at least). Can you describe the difference? If possible post an image file, an image taken with a USB microscope would be very helpful. Additionally I would re-calibrate aiming at a...

    Problem with halftone screens

We have moved from HND to HNS ourselves with no noticeable changes in image quality. There was a period of weeks we had both types at the same time in different film widths cassettes in our Dolev 800, but we noticed no difference in image quality between jobs ran on either, so from my standpoint...

Agfa Exposure test - shadow on film

This picture doesn't clearly show what exactly is the problem. It seems to show a lot of unnecessary light reflections. But, if you refer to a large "stain" in the middle, my guess is that your vacuum didn't hold the film flat on the drum surface during exposure.

    Trueflow 7.3 patches?

If the top (printed side) of your DVD is not damaged, you should try to polish the bottom side carefully. There are plenty of videos on Yotube. Good luck.
