I have fought the good fight....

Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter! Also, the idiotic "mobile link" locks me up. I have to open a crappy, small, pdf - then turn off mobile link - THEN, I can open my larger pdfs. Again, Adobe - I guess the secretaries you are building this for don't open large files?

I have fought the good fight....

Friends. It is with the deepest of regrets that I must inform you of the following: Today, due to speed issues on my Yosemite install (Mac Pro 2014) - I had to install, Acrobat DC Yes, I have fought it as long as I could. Sure, I was an early adopter. I mean, the day it came out. And then....I...

Acrobat 11 link no longer working

Joe - that "seems" to have worked! In the past, it has required a serial number I believe? I was logged into my CC account - so maybe, just maybe, this will do the trick. THANKS!

Acrobat 11 link no longer working

The way CC installs, it does not allow you to see the download file anywhere. I work with very large PDFs with live names and changes to the art for our digital web presses. We live in a Pantone friendly and live transparency environment. As such, I need to be able to open up Separations Preview...

Acrobat 11 link no longer working

FYI I got it to work. I had to uninstall a few times prior. I wonder if Adobe will ever listen to us about DC? I have been in the business for 25 years now. I have never hated a product as much as I do, DC. That goes not only for my team, but our other teams in two separate states. In fact...

Acrobat 11 link no longer working

For the past six or so months, I have used the following link to download Acrobat 11 instead of that atrocious Acrobat DC. Now it is no longer working. Anybody know how to download Acrobat 11 anymore? I do NOT want a window staying open in the background like in DC. Many other features that DC...

    Acrobat ligatures

Dov. This goes back almost a year. We have fought ligatures (as have others on this forum) since CS6 INDD. In INDD preferences - composition - we have now turned on, "Substituted glyphs" to give us a clue when they are going to go bad. I have $10,000 in rework in the past 90 days due to this...

    Acrobat ligatures

My mac - Acrobat 11.0.2 Her mac - Acrobat DC Offer (ligature out of INDD for the ff) I see it correctly -Offer She sees- O=er She quit Acrobat DC - no better She restarted her computer - all better. Thoughts? Personally, if I could nuke every ligature known to man, I would. Time to dig that...

Turning ligatures off within a PDF?

We created a script that turns off ligatures in all text styles prior to output.

    Realization

Gordo - my craft has never been better. I am paid more and on more solid ground than when the 7500 came out. My point is that the advent of that technology allowed the customer to demand for free what should not have been free. We (the printing industry) is to blame. All chasing after an ever...

    Realization

I blame the Epson 7500 (or whatever number it was) I started in 1990. Prepress was not free, because the film and Matchprint material cost alone to make a two sided 8 page form was like $500. If you stopped a press for a fix, there WAS a price to be paid. Along came platesetters and the that...

    Acrobat DC Extract

Not sure if this has always been this way? Have a vendor that is very picky. Requires 1.3 pdf (PDF A)?? Receive in 1.3 from our artist. Open in Acrobat DC 30 page pdf Extract pages Now, when I do a "command D" it states it is a 1.6 Thoughts from the experts?

The hardest (file) problem(s) you've ever solved

1994. Scitex Mac RIP. Had an illustrator file of a credit card with major vignettes all over it. Would not rip to save its life. Solution: I flipped the file 180 degrees upside down...voila. RIP! Not quite up to par with these, but still a great anecdote. I got into this field in 1990 - just...

Permanent Crop Pitstop and or Acrobat

ABC - here is a test file. I want to crop this down to red only. Then, increase the size to 9.5 wide x 4.5 tall. Then, in the white area, put in crop marks.

Permanent Crop Pitstop and or Acrobat

It might be straightforward, but it has been a royal pain in the butt. 8.5 x 14 Crop down to 8.5 x 3.5 (bottom 3.5 inches) Now, create an area big enough for crops - say, 9.5 x 4.5 Now, add crops.

Permanent Crop Pitstop and or Acrobat

I created the file, Michael. I am using GMC Inspire to create a letter / reply (8.5 x 14 inches) pdf. However, for scanline testing, we need only the 3.5 inches at the bottom. I want to crop down to the 3.5, then put on crop marks. IF the buttons actually did what they claim they do, this...
