    Black's a Problem

True enough. For slightly different reasons. When I was still working I'd get the occasional; 'What would the cost difference be if I just want black print'. The same. (sometimes I'd throw them a couple bucks difference). So much print is tossed onto gang runs that it matters little what colours...

    Custom Built vs Pre-Built PC’s?

    Printograph Experience

I have no experience with Printograph. I've used 4Over in the past and primarily use Sina. 'Pleasing colour' is the pleasing catch phrase. However I believe both these companies (Sina for sure) updated calibration 3 or 4 years ago for their offset machines. Since that time I've had very little...

    Free-Dumb

Reminds me of the days when people would come in with store bought cards to be imprinted around Christmas time. Cards had to be unfolded, had glitter all over them . . . Or other supplied stock that looked like it had been stored in a moldy basement for 10 years. They'd be offended when they...

    TRY TO PREFLIGHT THIS !!

I see this sort of thing in PDF files from time to time. I've just considered it to be leftover objects from some past alteration in design from the customer (these are customer PDF's, not mine). I've never given too much thought to how they would have accomplished this. That would give me a...

    Windows 11

Thanks PD. I expect the guy putting the machine together will make certain not to install that stuff but I expect to make further adjustments. I'll eventually get things to how I like. I've used shell tweakers with each version of Windows. Small tweaks but endlessly useful for ones sanity. The...

    Windows 11

Every single piece of software they've ever put out is full of fluff & 'helpers', 'assistants', 'wizards'. Call them what you will. Useless crap that tries to tell you how to go about operating your own computer and what is best for your 'computing experience' (according to them).

    Windows 11

If you have that URL handy I'd appreciate it. I've instructed them not to install any of the Microsoft fluff & helpers when installing the operating system but I expect to get rid of more. This sort of thing is the exact reason why I procrastinate over new systems. You spend a month getting rid...

    Windows 11

I went ahead & placed my order. I buy from a privately owned shop that's been servicing computer users for a long time. I get that it should be new & wonderful and it might be to most. I hate having to reload everything, transfer files and the endless tweaking to get things how I like. Thanks to...

    Windows 11

Thanks but I wasn't asking about Windows 10, I was asking about 11. As for me still using 7. It's always worked well for me and if it ain't busted . . . Plus it takes forever to get things (the way the computer operates) back to the way I like things to be. I got off the hamster wheels of...

    Windows 11

I just happened across this when looking at today's news. It's somewhat distressing to me because I was literally minutes away from placing an order for a new custom computer which will take me from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I held off as long as I could. My logical thinking tells me I will...

    Color issues

You may need to add some information. Are you mixing inks? What colour? Are you having trouble running an ink from the can to it's accurate colour? Do you have a colour sample (target) to aim for? What does it look like (what visual problems are you encountering?). Running an ink to the colour...

ideal 4315 stack cutter not cutting straight

Typical causes in addition to Ynot's suggestion is; dull blade, not enough clamp pressure, too much clamp pressure, uneven clamp pressure. Also a soft (spongy) stock such as an uncoated textured text or cover. These papers should be trimmed in smaller lifts.
