i've used the ricoh 7100 series and xerox v80 and v180 extensively. They're similar enough to me, except my current v180 does a far superior job of flood colors than the ricohs I used.

nevermind and thannk you I found the sensor. I had to take off the front cover. I vacuumed the inside of the machine, but I guess i couldn't quite get to the sensor. Vacuuming the sensor on the inside of the front cover got enough dust out to let the sensor work.
