Today we signed the paperwork for a new Colour 1000 with Gold & Silver (to replace a Colour 800 with clear) and a Versant 2100 (to replace an aged DocuColour 8000). Versant will be installed in the next 2 weeks I hope but C1000 will be installed in Feb. Excited to see what these machines can do!

@pippip - That's the same machine we sent back. Was very unhappy with it and from what you've said it could have been worse if we'd have had a working one! @realrdp @NPS - looks like a interesting machine. Will see if we have any local distributors.

On our CREO RIP for Xerox 800 we can do this. In Imposition you'd choose booklet then set your final trim size, gutters, margin and add crop marks. This would create the crop marks at 8.5x11 and leave the extra as bleed.

That's not what I was hoping to hear. Was hoping that it'd be like monitors where they all come from the same factory. Might be worth ordering a set and seeing how they run before talking with OKI reseller.

That's good to hear. I assume all versions would use the same driver so it was possibly something with their test client machine. It wasn't using acrobat to print the PDF so hopefully that. I agree. The machine does a superb job for the price. We'll be lucky to have both options available so...

Have you had any issues with vectors inside PDF's dropping information through the RIP? 3 samples I ran had full vector graphics fall or parts of logos fall off. The big green icon on the sample I posted was meant to be at 10% opacity but it couldn't recognise it either and ran at full strength.

Wish we had them here! Glassine is awful and still creases through the OKI. The OKI is a toy compared to the Xerox 800 however I don't think it could be run any cheaper especially when the components aren't lasting as long as they should. We did buy it outright however we pay a click for toner...

We run pre-perfed paper most days on our Xerox 800 with no issues at all. Just need to make sure that the perf is facing the same direction on all sheets when feeding - for us we have the raised side down. The stock we use is a 100gsm uncoated SRA3 which we get perfed by a diecutter on a cylinder.

As an alternative check out Quite Imposing which works as an Acrobat plugin. It can do Step N Repeat and Step N Continue however I don't think it can do Cut N Stack which is shame for variable work. We tend to impose most of our work on the Creo RIP.

I'll keep you in the loop. Won't know until drum gets to 60% if it's fixed though. We get original toner and drums through the Oki distributor in New Zealand. All included in our click charge which is handy.

Thanks for the info Damfino. My Tripp line conditioner arrived on Friday and is saying the power in high. The magenta drum was already at 60% life and adding the magenta cast to any coated sheet so I've ordered a new one which should arrive on Monday. Fingers crossed this works so we move off...

Has anyone had any luck getting the iQueue software working with anything other than an Ilumina engine? We've currently got the Fiery Command Centre installed but iQueue seems to allow a much simpler approach. Thanks.
