Offset Print Job on Uncoated Paper fades within weeks for no known reason

Thank you D Ink Man, I have passed that on to the boys at the Sister company. I am fairly sure that by now they will be shopping around for a new supplier.

Offset Print Job on Uncoated Paper fades within weeks for no known reason

Hello Alois, Thank you so much - I'll pass that back to the team. "Quoting L.a.B. values !!!!" - sorry - just wanted to communicate exactly how far the colour had moved and in which direction. Thank you again.

Offset Print Job on Uncoated Paper fades within weeks for no known reason

Hello - So sorry for any confusion. I will ask them for the PressSign reports so you can see the dates of the runs. At the time of printing, both 1st and 2nd run looked like a good match for Cool Grey 5U. They should have both had a delta E of less than 1.5 when the job was in finishing. Today...

Offset Print Job on Uncoated Paper fades within weeks for no known reason

Hiya - I am fairly sure the production area will be temperature controlled (I am checking). They are wondering if the paper had been exposed to different humidity conditions before it arrived to them. I will ask about the Humidity monitor. The inks suppliers says that they have performed light...

Offset Print Job on Uncoated Paper fades within weeks for no known reason

Hello folks, I really need your help. Our sister company has trouble with an offset job. The Cool Grey 5U looks OK when it's printed but after just a few weeks it fades. Attached is a photo of the target, the first print run and the second print run. You'll see the first run is a little out...

Light and easy package designer (drawing generator)

Hello xraider, I've only had a short play on the website but that looks really cool. One tiny thing .... On my kindle fire the site won't display as portrait ( I cannot see the edges of the pages) but works just fine as landscape. Keep up the good work

    Which Mac should I Get?

Yes macs are expensive but they last. I'm on a mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro and I'll stick with it as long as it still goes. Even research by IBM shows that Macs are cheaper to run over time. I always argue with my boss that laptops are too expensive if you are not mobile. He wants people to be...

    i1Profiler - 7 Color Profile Contamination

You make some interesting points there Mike. But I'd like to go back to that ugly colour. I believe it is the numbers, and not the printed appearance, that look ugly (do tell me if I'm wrong Schnitzel) Schnitzel originally posted the CIELab of the colour L*: 11.41, a*: 24.63, b*: -55.92. So -...

I think that was the original work around they were trying to improve on.

The case against the EPS file.

Hello Folks, I need your help. The lads at my sister company still insist on using .EPS files for vector artwork. They have lots of historic files and they are struggling to let go and move on. Everything they process ends up as a PDF/VT 1.0 anyway. ... but .... I need more ammo than...

    i1Profiler - 7 Color Profile Contamination

Hello Schnitzel, Bad colour math indeed. I don't believe any seven colour build should contain more than four inks at a time. You certainly shouldn't get any more than one of the extended inks in the same build. The attached image shows a slide demonstrating how each extended ink is only...

    Hardware or Process suggestions?

Hello Dan, I believe you are correct about Rich Mode. We were all Fast Templates and SNAP fonts until we moved to GMC Inspire. Am I right though that Rich Mode mean the Mac does all the heavy lifting. If you can live with the limitations of Fast Templates then you print job A while you RIP job...

    Metallic Inks for Nanographic Printing

We've been printing with HP Indigo since 2003. Still waiting for our first can of metallic ink to arrive. During that time HP seem to have sold a lot of presses. I'm even told that some of them don't break down and one or two of them are profitable ;-)

Fine Cut will convert the vector illustrator artwork into mechanical movement on the table. There maybe other ways to use the table with drivers but they might be user unfriendly. Go for the demo version of Fine Cut and see how far you get. Good luck

    Plotter newbie looking for guidance

Hello Stickman, Hope you had a good vacation. Mine starts Friday - whoop whoop!! Plan to drink a lot of what D Ink Man has been having lately ;-) Anyway ... A quick Google Search for "25 pin serial connector to usb" showed lots of adaptors. There is no guarantee any of them will work as this...

When you Lose What you Got....

Oh I am so terribly sorry, I clearly walked into the wrong room. I was hoping to discuss which are the best Corel products with David Milisock. Don't mind me. I'll slip out quietly .... is that Prosecco?
