Kodak Sonora X - DOP issues

Revolutions , well probably it is But on another hand — i see your problems arise near the edge of the plates. Taking into account that freshly exposed plates do not suffer from same problems, i would suggest to check the environmental condition around plate storage. Maybe it is too dry in your...

Revolutions , well, since you have a lot of experience, i would suggest some of mine: we use Sonora X since they were announced — we're also participate in trials before announcement. And we do follow kodak's instructions on minimum predamp. Our plates are all clean in +-25 sheets. And it...

    Question about plate curves

This is 100% true, but have to add that it affect any bitmap — doesn't matter if it is raster data or anything else (0,1) RIP knows how to alter 8-bitt data before converting to 1bit raster. I personally don't know any RIP that can alter 1bit data directly. But if one will use, say, descreen...

is there a way to choke a color in Prinergy?

Well, you should first chek in Acrobat with overprint preview, if Y truly knocks out M. In prinergy you should check your settings in colorconvert section of the refine process. Look for overprint conversion options. You can set all CMYK to knockout via first checkbox:

    Matching screen with proofs (FOGRA52)

IMHO, Adobe color conversion engine works great. I think that maybe you do not fully understand how color management work. * You take one RGB image, convert it to ISO_coated_v2 profile — you get some CMYK values. * You take same RGB image, convert it to PSO_coated_v3 profile — you get some other...

    Matching screen with proofs (FOGRA52)

I've read your post several times. And I still can't get it. What were you expecting? Similar images? How so? WP of 52 and 47 are not the same. Also why so many conversion steps? Why not just take eciRGB of Roman16 and convert to needed profile right in photoshop?

    Matching screen with proofs (FOGRA52)

What about uv content in your lamps? do they (lamps) conform 3664 ISO? And also gordo 's question — M1 for both or M0 for 47, and M1 for 52?

    Matching screen with proofs (FOGRA52)

thomas911 , for correct 47 proof one should use no-oba paper. For correct 52 proof - oba paper. So question number 1 is your paper correct? And question number 2 what are the viewing conditions?
