    FusionPro vs Freeform Create...

We are going to check out Jet Letter. It was time to upgrade FusionPro and it is now a subscription service of $1,500/Mo. for what we have. I asked if they offered any discounts or incentives for current Ricoh customers or FusionPro customers and the answer was NO. They said they had previously...

Ricoh 72xx Color Accuracy and Consistency...

Around here Xerox has installed a lot of these. When they first came out we priced one, but it was not only more expensive than the two 72xx machines, but the click charge was higher.

Ricoh 72xx Color Accuracy and Consistency...

That is disappointing to hear. I had thought about getting one of those after our 7200 lease is up.

Ricoh 72xx Color Accuracy and Consistency...

On our 2100, the sensors were located on the bottom of the drum slide out tray, just to the left of the black drum as you face the machine. There are holes in the metal housing that we would clean with a cloth twisted to fit into the tiny spaces.

Ricoh 72xx Color Accuracy and Consistency...

Competing with each other it really surprises me that there would be much difference across brands when the technology is so mature. We found that most of our huge color variations on the Versant came down to how dirty it ran. It would always be throwing toner up onto the sensors that read the...

Ricoh 72xx Color Accuracy and Consistency...

After 3 years of running Ricoh 72xx machines and 5 years of running Xerox Versant machines, one of the most notable things is how they handle color. On our Versant machines, they needed to be calibrated very frequently, sometimes more than once a day. On the other hand, the Ricohs can go weeks...

    EFI Impose/Compose...

Running 5x7 postcards I am always shocked that there isn't a way to run fit 5up on a 12.5x19 sheet, since Fiery Impose won't let you gangup with one rotated. Seems like a basic thing they would offer.

Pantone Color Libraries will be removed from future Adobe updates

Isn't this going to make Pantone dry up and fade into nonexistence in the printing world???

Toner shortages - Must we resort to this?

If Ricoh's don't need chips, why do others????

Entertainment Weekly and InStyle to Cease Print Publication,

Video killed the magazines. Every magazine I used to read, I have replaced with watching videos on the subjects. When it comes to instructions or manuals though, I always want paper.

    Versant 180 Envelope Color Nightmare

Did you try lowering the transfer voltage? 95%, 90%? In dry conditions we usually had to lower it.

    Adobe Performance...

I realize Adobe has been pretty busy the past few years, removing support for Pantone Colors and Type 1 Font support, but has anyone heard if they are planning to add multi-core support or improve performance? I am regularly working on catalogs in Indesign that have tons of high res drawing and...

    Pricing Postage…

We generally price it like normal, but on larger mailings will drive it to the SCF if it saves enough to pay for the trip. This seems like it gives an advantage to mailers who operate in the big cities with SCFs.

    Pricing Postage…

When doing bulk mailings do you pass along the discount you can get from delivering to an SCF or do you keep it?

    Upgrading from the Xerox V180.

We had all of our rebuilt last week and are in good shape except both machines needed a PTU replaced today. The tech said both were out of stock.

    Upgrading from the Xerox V180.

The only thing I don't like about the Ricoh 7200 series is the speed. Everything else is pretty good and we have never had bad supplies or trouble getting them.

Thinking of moving from Epson to Canon... any suggestions

We have two 9900s and a S40600. The speed and cost of printing on the S40600 is MUCH, MUCH better. The ONLY advantage the 9900s have is very high quality photo printing and they are great for running 20 lb bond maps and plans. Our S40600 is used daily for posters, banners and decals. Our 9900 is...

    Gloss Cover Prices...

Oddly, the skid of 80# Gloss text we got in today, 25x38, was a couple dollars a thousand cheaper. lol

    Gloss Cover Prices...

Wondered if anyone wanted to let me know if our recent supplier price increases were out of line for these times. We use a lot of 26x40 100# Gloss Cover. Last Summer we were paying $240/M when ordering a skid each month from our normal supplier. Then last November they said the price jumped to...

    Pricing Brochures and Business Cards...

Since implementing our new pricing software several years back, we have gone in and tweaked different processes regularly to where everything matched our old way of doing things. While everything is looking good and our prices seem competitive on most items, 3 panel brochures and business cards...
