Do you give customer the pdf file?

You appear to be between a rock and a hard place, one one hand, if you don't give them the files they will most likely never be back and you will have burned that bridge. On the other hand if you do give them the files and the other printer screws up they would be likely to be back to a know...

    About paper grade

Dario . . . if you are expected to perfectly match a color on an unknown stock . . . good luck. You could always get the stock, give some to your ink supplier and have him match it - thats what they do. But if you expect a "perfect" match . . . I doubt seriously that you will do it, after all...

Hot foil stamping on Matte laminated sheet

What size is the "t"? What type of machine is doing the stamping? It appears that the right hand side of the images is cleaner than the left . . . could the direction of the foil pull be making a difference? Stamping on a laminated surface can be a can of worms . . . . since the surface distorts...

What are other shops using for general lighting?

Well, for general shop lighting we are just using energy efficient T5 fluorescent lighting but all that you need to be concerned with is in the viewing booth at the end of your press and over the table/counter where the customer comes in to do presschecks. In those areas we are using some...

    Explosive rant

I am aware of representatives from Adobe, Pit Stop, and Fusion (I might be mistaken . . .) but from my point of view vendors are welcome here if they choose to participate . . . and I think that it speaks loudly that EFI is not represented here . . . haven't see Quark around here either . . .

Well . . . if you think EFI support services suck . . . you should try Social Security . . . they won't even talk to you on the phone or let you set an appointment - you just show up and wait . . . even DMV is better than that

C100+M100 dark purple prints blue from online trade printer doing dye sub. job

Heidelberg GTO 46 trouble feeding 10-hole paper

To follow up on this . . . the holes on the forwarding grippers are for sheet detection if there is no paper blocking it, it does not sense a sheet and stops the press . . . either feed it so the holes in the paper don't line up with the grippers or run it tail end first if you have enough...

Watching the US wrastle with healthcare

Back in the Clintons time in the White House "the government" decided that everyone should be able to own a house so the "lenders" were instructed to loosen the requirements for financing, and, as time went on we went from 20% down (in my fathers day) and proof of an income that could support...

Newsprint shops: What Lpi\Dpi settings do you use?

the 1800 is the resolution for the image setter and has little to do with the LPI setting of 120, also the halftone dot size would have little to do with the registration of the printing units . . . best I can do with the information supplied . . . .
