Multi-page PDF Output in AE Workflow

Don't get confused with the "Create Runlist" ticket. This is only used to create a runlist from JDF via a 3rd party imposition program like Preps or Dynagram. It is not to join pages into a multipage document. I would just create a VB script to write out a XML/JDF file.

Multi-page PDF Output in AE Workflow

Rather then scripting Acrobat, why not have your VB Script create a JDF runlist based on the files that hit the "run script" task. Then you can use the "create PDF from JDF" task to take that runlist and create the multipage PDF for you. I do this with an Applescript. There is also the...

Illustrator CC 17.1 - Anyone installed it?

We installed it and only had a small problem. We are running all of our licenses on a network license server. We had to update that to the latest version. Now it all runs fine.

Embedding data from MIS into metadata of a pdf

Chevalier, you should reach out to an Esko ASM and ask them for the feature list of Automation Engine 14 (being released in 2014). I know they are adding a bunch of new functionality to this. Maybe they are putting in a way to populate custom XMP in PDFs via workflow.

    Anyone here use ArtPro?

Not that simple. You can't just download Artpro. It builds it based on your licensing. Without a login and password you will not be able to build or download.

ESKO Users - Do not upgrade to OSX Mavericks

While Esko dropped the ball on 10.8 Deskpack. I don't necessary blame them on this one. Apple delivered Mavericks faster then the industry was expecting.

Is Esko still developing for Neo?

At Eskoworld this year we got a look at the new iCut Layout. This is a complete rebuild of the old version and it is the first editor to run on their brand new "Jelly" kernel. The new PDF editor that they are working on will also run on this new Jelly kernel / platform. The Gui of icut layout...

    Nexus 8.? question - basic (I hope)

Do you know if they have license for the PDF processor? If so, there is a separate module that will take a composite PDF and output a PDF for each separation. From there you can easily convert those PDF's to PS or leave it as PDF. If they don't have that module, I can help you with a classic...

    Neo 10.1

did you read the manual? I find neo a very intuitive product. I will admit that Pitstop is better for some stuff, but in neo you have the actionlist and profile editor to do some of the script pitstop stuff. As far as splitting spreads, you could use a actionlist to do that.

    Any AE commercial users???

I used it up until last year. We loved it. We had a nice setup with JDF stripping information being feed into the system via MIS and generating the layouts automatically. I have also used Prinergy in commercial and I loved that also. I also know that 2 of the largest yearbook publishers in the...

    Automation?

I have seen Metrix and it is a very powerful solution. I don't think you hear about that much because it is pretty small on its users compared to the other solutions (preps, dynagram etc..). I expect in a few more years you will start seeing a lot of preps users switching to Metrix or something...
