    Stitched ripping booklet

So this Matte text you're using.. I assume it's coated stock(?) Quite heavy? I have had this problem with heavy coated stocks and the covers ripping off in the booklet maker. It's simply the weight of the stock that when the rollers are pulling it (down?) inertia is holding the book back, while...

    Stitched ripping booklet

I know that feeling. However.. I had a thought.. Run some covers with cleaner on them. EG, A soft uncoated cover sheet with a cleaner of some kind.. I don't know the odds of igniting a solvent by doing that.. But there are machines that use this method to clean up rollers etc...

    humidity

Some things won't show sign. I'd be putting a ounce of bleach in there every week. Maybe over a weekend. Or.. a few silver coins (real silver) laying in there would work, to prevent bacteria growing. Legionnaires comes to mind.

    humidity

My Canon inkjet won't even start up, unless humidity is over about 35% or better.. That is still low, and it has additional humidity conditioners internally. Definitely better for production inkjet printers. Better for static control. Better for your skin. Better for your sinuses. I keep it in...

    Konica Minolta's IQ-501

I know nothing about the IQ system.. But generally.. Sounds like a magnification calibration issue. "Specs" may all be fine, but if it's miscalibrated, you're just compensating for error. Not fixing the problem.

Press room and digital environment temperature range

We run a Merlin RO system. For humidification and also to feed our monster Canon IX3200, which requires it for internal conditioning. The Merlin is expensive, but very effective.

    Copy Job Cost and Pricing...

I'm a firm believer in the 80/20 rule. 80% of your problems come from 20% of your clients. And vice~versa.

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

I was gonna say.. Most all these machines like to run hard.. Once you get the bugs out, keep them going nonstop as long as possible. A lot of the issues seem to come when starting after a down time... more than a couple days..

    Duplo stitch cartridges

I was buying staple cartridges from Canon for my finishers. Don't remember exactly, but it was like 150 to over 200 for some carts. I found Best Office Products online. BOP. Using the model number of the cartridge. (Apparently) exact same carts for around 30$+ versus 150$. Last 5 years or so...

    Canon varioPRINT iX-series

When we got ours a couple years ago, it was troublesome. Took some time to work out issues.. Then Canon started applying updates and various upgrades. Steamers, ink delivery lines, sensors replaced, cleaning ribbons system changed out. Now the IX is quite excellent. An expensive investment...

Issues finishing Ricoh 8310 B/W printers

We have an old BW Canon 120 with similar output/issues. No sheet tapper/jogger. I managed to improve the stack considerably by loosely taping a small piece of plastic with a pencil eraser just above the output, positioned to loosely stroke the exiting sheet, slowing it down just enough to...

    Canon varioPRINT iX-series

Yes. We put one in about a year + ago. iX3200 Bit of a learning curve. However, the print quality is excellent. Since that time there have been several upgrades to the hardware and software. I must say the changes have made a big difference in usability. It's much better now, so far as...

    Microcut JR Screen Troubleshooting

I've never used one of these.. However.. If you are able to remove or loosen the face plate, you might be able to see a ribbon cable attached to the display, or display control board. I would try removing that, then reseating it. Perhaps wipe off the contacts with a Qtip and alcohol. Wiggle any...
