How Would You Do This Job?

Plasticoil offers the advantage in that the tabbed section dividers can be on a heavier stock, possibly laminated. I'd be inclined to make up some samples and try to steer it in this direction, away from saddle stitching (where I can't see how you could use a heavier stock for the dividers as...

    Mylar Bag Printing

@ninaspears what quantities and how many sorts? Of course "Food Grade" extends way beyond the substrate. The companies specialising in this have invested millions in technology, infrastructure, certification, etc. However, even if your quantities aren't vast, that is not necessarily a...

    Basic creaser?

We were in a similar position and found an Autocreaser Pro 33 in great condition from a local litho printer closing down his business at the start of Covid.

@Shredder did you ever post that link to your website? ...so we can understand your business better and hopefully offer you more tailored advice?

    Basic creaser?

Have a look at the small semi automatic creasestream desktop machines, they are reasonably priced and reasonably fast for small quantity runs.

    Konica Minolta AccurioPress C4080 / C4070 / C4065

Thanks for that @jwheeler, all useful food for thought. On the finishing side, we're leaning toward the basic OT-510 as we already have a good offline finishing set-up and this will take a decent sized stack of output.

    Konica Minolta AccurioPress C4080 / C4070 / C4065

@jwheeler The upgraded resolution is significant and worth waiting for. I understand the UK launch date is the first week in December, presumably later than the US, where the 40nn series is now featured on KM's site. I imagine to achieve this, the toner technology must have been upgraded...

    Duplo finishing machines

"Cut" is essentially the same as what your guillotine does - a full cut the full width of the substrate - only single sheets at a time. "Slit" is a cut, or multiple cuts, of less than the full width of the substrate, in various places as programmed.

    Duplo finishing machines

Indeed - kiss cutting is exactly as you describe, apparently so named as the cutting tool only "kisses"the backing sheet, without actually cutting it. Whereas, slitting is a cut that goes all the way through the substrate.

    Duplo finishing machines

The Duplo machines you've listed won't kiss cut They cut, slit, crease and perforate.

need advice for purchase inkjet press machine

There's a few problems with looking at it like that: Scalability - it may be possible to achieve less cost per page but only with something high end. As an analogy, compare the price of clicks on your C1085 presses versus the price of clicks on the office colour photocopier. Being...

need advice for purchase inkjet press machine

What do you want from a small inkjet press that your existing fleet of dry toner machines don’t offer? I could understand why you may want a KM1e or similar, as it is a B2+ press. However the MCS machine won’t print larger sheets than your C1085 presses. With your current volumes and...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

... but it's OK to use manual labour to operate a rotary trimmer to cut blister cards? Sorry, but I'm also becoming more and more confused as to what you want to achieve. If you were in the UK, I would offer to spend one or two days per month consulting for you. I'm sure others on here...

need advice for purchase inkjet press machine

Buying a wide format inkjet needs a bit more forethought than buying a digital press, as the technology and capability of the latter all do more or less the same thing and have similar options in terms of finishing. The decision is 9/10 times down to existing dealer relationships, support in...

need advice for purchase inkjet press machine

@slimbh you need to quantify a few things here. “Limited budget” will mean different things to different people. What width do you want to go up to and on what substrates? What quantities do you envisage printing? How much space have you got? What about finishing? Etc...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

@Shredder I fear you may be bypassing the least expensive and the best solutions you talk of, simply by being blinded by these eBay deals and focusing too narrowly on individual aspects. For example, you picked up what appeared to be a bargain C6100 and were in awe of the heavy stocks it would...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

We bought direct from Vivid as an existing Matrix/Omniflow customer and were once again well looked after by Duncan Cross, in securing a price very advantageous to the Duplo alternative (the same physical machine, different badge). The Veloblade indeed does only cut one sheet at a time - we...
