Duplo PFI Blade B3 vs Iecho PK 0604

Thanks for your input. I thought of acoustic panels but there's no room in the machine and it would indeed cause trouble with the ventilation. And you're right an external pump would need to hack the software and Duplo won't probably allow it. A quieter inner pump seems to be the only way to go...

Duplo PFI Blade B3 vs Iecho PK 0604

Hi, we've been running a Duplo PFI Blade B3 for a couple months now and the machine performs just fine, actually above our expectations. We are now in need of a second or maybe even 2 more machines to accommodate our production needs. I would go with the Duplo machine without hesitation if not...

Konica Minolta Toner Fire at Japanese Factory May Affect US Supplies

Just received a letter from Konica stating that they are not delivering us any more toner starting now for the next 3 months. No further information. This is not looking good. We are in France running a C3080.

    Konica Hikari/AccurioFlux VS Fiery

Hi, We use the IQ-501 mostly for calibration. We are not a print shop and use the machine for specific applications, printing always the same stuff on the same 3 types of paper. We only have one thing we print duplex, 485 mm x 320 mm 320 gsm. That paper is cut by our supplier as we don't have a...

1st Installation in the UK of the Duplo PFi Blade B3 cutting table

Yes, thanks for pointing that out. We are laminating and the quality of the cut doesn't matter, it's hidden in our finished product.

1st Installation in the UK of the Duplo PFi Blade B3 cutting table

Yes, exactly my plan. Let's say we'll cut 30 sheets with 100 mm disks. Once they're done, we stack the sheets and punch out the disks by hand, 30 at a time. Should only take a couple minutes.

1st Installation in the UK of the Duplo PFi Blade B3 cutting table

@Ynot_UK, @tngcas Leaving tabs is no problem for our application, the reason why I'm looking into these small machines...

1st Installation in the UK of the Duplo PFi Blade B3 cutting table

Hi, Is anyone running either of these: Intec Colorcut LC-600 https://intecprinters.com/products/digital-cutting-devices-for-print-work/automated-sheet-label-cutters/ Vulcan SC-350 http://www.vulcantecpro.com/more.php?lm=28&id=77 I'm curious to know how they perform. I know they're in another...

1st Installation in the UK of the Duplo PFi Blade B3 cutting table

Hi, I am also currently looking at the Duplo PFI Blade. Do any of you use the QR code option for repeated jobs? I'm wondering if you can just stack different jobs in the feeder and let the machine work by itself, reading each QR code before cutting?

D&K Europa 5474 Laminator - flying knife vs burst cutter

You're right, we didn't have pneumatic pressure, must make a big difference. We're pretty set on the D&K Europa, it looks like a great machine. Test runs we did were perfect. We dwell in the fine detailed prints I think I'll have KM do some test prints on the 4080 to see if there is a...

D&K Europa 5474 Laminator - flying knife vs burst cutter

Hi, thanks for your input. I saw your other post and am jealous of your C4080, we got the C3080 just before they introduced it. No major changes I think but they advertise a much higher resolution, does that really make a difference? We used to have a Matrix 530 for a couple years back in 2013...

D&K Europa 5474 Laminator - flying knife vs burst cutter

Hi, thanks for your input. I've talked with D&K and they confirm the flying knife will cut anything. I didn't think of the overlaping issue though, thanks for pointing that out.

D&K Europa 5474 Laminator - flying knife vs burst cutter

Hello, We are currently running a Tauler Smartmatic 2.0 laminator. Printing on a Konica 3080, mostly SRA3 sheet on 170 gsm coated and 160 gsm uncoated paper. The Tauler machine is working fine, we are just looking at improving paper pick-up (the machine picks up doubles every now and then, we...

    Database label software

Yes, I am looking at Bartender or Nicelabel, but both seem to be targeting the "office" crowd and not design. We've been using Nicelabel and it really has a Microsoft Word feel to it... Designing ability is very limited and most of the times frustrating...

    Database label software

Thanks. I'll have to look into that as well, I'm not sure we'll be able to deal with the quantity of labels to be printed that way. InDesign will generate as many pages as labels we need to print so that could potentially make very large files... We sometimes print up to 50 or 60 different...

    Database label software

Thanks for the link. This looks very interesting, exactly what we need. I will look into. I'm not sure our usage can justify the price tag though... We'll see. Thanks again!

    Database label software

Hello, I'm looking for advice on label design software. We are typically printing small bar code labels on the products we sell. Some customers want to add logos and stuff to their labels. We recently switched from a Zebra/Nicelabel Designer Pro set-up to an Epson C6500 to improve quality of the...

    Transparency effects printing issues

I tried to change that "Composite Overprint" setting but it made no difference. Following @Puch 's advice we are currently printing PDF/X-1 files and have no issues with transparencies. I'm getting the APPE add-on in the machine in a few weeks and we'll try to work with PDF/X-4 files then.

    Transparency effects printing issues

Following my question above. I've ran some tests doing this : - saving a native AI file as a PDF/X-1 - then saving the same file as a native AI file again (keeping the file open the whole time) As far as I can tell, as long as the file stays open in AI, it remains as a native AI file, even...

    Transparency effects printing issues

Hi, yet another question... What happens when you save an AI file as a PDF/X-1 and then save it again as an AI file? I would think the document loses some properties when saved as PDF/X-1 but I've tried and everything looks unchanged. My original AI file is 16.7 Mb, the PDF/X-1 is 5.6 Mb, the...
