Re: Ink Head clogging Not that I'm an expert...just going by what the HP techs told me. Cory has said he turns his epson off at night. Just give it a shot...leave it on 24/7 see if it helps. Worth a shot.

I need to get better control on dot gain. We guess to much... Is there a good read on avg. dot gain for sheetfed offset? What are most peoples avg. dot gain?? How I was show was to get film into cal. 30 reads 30, etc. Then for dot gain or prod. manager jacks the exp up from 7 to 9. This works...

Re: Ink Head clogging I must agree with leaving the printer on 24/7. We have and HP...might be a little different than the epson. But, the HP techs told us it's better to leave them on because the heads can purge to keep the heads clear. No issues here...but that could be the HP too. I've heard...

Had a file come in Q7 with drop shadow. You could see it in the PDF but when brought into Indy....I went away. Would not print...seems like some flattening issue? Saved out as EPS (postscript will not hold live trans., has to flatten) Then ran through distiller and was fine. Has anyone else...

Re: DCS single file Do you have Indesign? Indy handles DCS files MUCH better than Quack. You can look at seps on screen and all.

Re: Acrobat color to gray I'm not at work...but I think if you use acrobat convert colors. Gray 2.2. (Do not embed profile) Make sure you preserve "grays" and convert the rest. This should keep 100% K as 100% K.
