that is quite a work around. I am in a similar situation where I have no idea how to talk to my EFI RIP server with out appletalk. Everyone else in my office has the latest macOS, while I'm still hanging on to to my 10.5.8 specifically so I can continue to print to our epson proofer.

Survey about use of Acrobat on the Mac

Re: Survey about use of Acrobat on the Mac After some reading here and other forums, recently we have switched to direct export from InDesign (CS3 on Mac). Prior to that I would almost always print postscript to a watched folder for Distiller to process. I sort-of miss having the watched folder...

    Magnetic Signs through Epson Printers

Re: Magnetic Signs through Epson Printers Sorry no experience. How thick is the magnetic material they are asking you to print on? Typically you would print on an adhesive vinyl then mount that to the magnetic material.

    Good scanner?

Re: Good scanner? Finding appropriate flatbed scanners is a challenge. We had settled on purchasing an Epson 1000XL, though we have not followed through with that purchase. Seems we don't really need a scanner as much as we thought.. Our number one criteria in choosing a flatbed scanner was...

    Chemical Watermark - Any experience?

I need to create an official transcript paper for the company. I want to include a watermark but do not have the need for the quantity of stock it would take for a true watermark. I have heard of chemical watermarks. Can anyone provide insight on the process and the results?

I am going to show that I was self taught.....

Re: I am going to show that I was self taught..... +Woha+! That would be awesome if you could assign an entire layer to overprint in ID. However I didn't see anything in the help about that or how to do it within ID either. The addition of Object Styles (and table styles) has been really handy...

Need help on good quality business card printer

Re: Need help on good quality business card printer I can't say for sure, But I assume most of these copy centers send this stuff out to printers that specialize in business card printing. Even notice how many restrictions there are on those cards? They keep the cost down by offering a small...

Permissions on Mac Serv 10.4 /Leop

Re: Permissions on Mac Serv 10.4 /Leop not so sure it is a Leopard only issue. We are running an apple server with X-san and having a few permissions problems right now. It's all very 'greek' to me but our IT guy is quite displeased with the lack of support from apple on fixing this. Just found...

    Proofer of Your Dreams

Re: Proofer of Your Dreams We are dreaming here right? So cost is no object when dreaming... So let me take this as far as I think it can go, I would love to see an actual inked proof, spot colors, varnish and all. I envision a digital re-writable "plate" that lays down the same inks the press...
