It's always something different. On this project we had the Operator Flood it. The file had lots of knock-out white text and art. It turned out Great!

I am new to this, so here goes! When printing on Dibond and there is White in the file, do you simply lay down a flood white layer and then print the Art on top of that? Or do you need to edit the file and call out the white as a spot or something? Thanks!

I went from Prinergy Evo to Apogee at a new shop. Can some one tell me why the resolution is so low when viewing the flats in Results? And can't you render a PDF as grayscale?

We're trying to print a VD job with barcodes, in 8pt using Code 39. We can't get it to read unless we go up to 9 pt and higher. Anybody have any input? Thanks!

Are you printing with Optimized images or Full Res?

I'm told I have to set up Covers for perfect bound books with a half inch head trim for the glue lap. This seems a little extreme. I'm thinking a 1/4" would be plenty. What are the industry standards?

We need to upgrade from OS 10.4.11 to 10.6, I'm wondering if there will be any issues with Prinergy 4.0, Preps 5.3, Acrobat 7 with the Kodak plugins. Maybe even InDesign CS3 with HP SmartStream which we use for Variable Data. Anybody know of any problems we need to be aware of? Thanks!

Thanks! I guess the customer wants a PMS color. They don't want Digital Printing. That's why we need to go to offset. Anything to make my job harder.

I'm going to try to set up a file with 600 records and export it as pdfs, take that in to Prinergy Evo and set it up for an offset run. This seems doable, any one tried anything like this? Danny

I have a RUSH job coming in that needs VD and 2 of 5 barcodes with number under it. Has any one used this barcode font? I am using InDesign CS3 with HPs Smartstream. I downloaded a free version and can't get it to work. HELP!!! Danny

It wasn't KO type set to overprint. It was from InDesign CS4, but not a PDF/X. Fonts were embeded.
