Where I worked we used XMPie, but also broke it down to multiple lists to print to the BizHub, a few thousand at a time. The Data Merge with InDesign is ok for smaller lists, but I have been burned with large lists with InDesign's data merge. -Sev

We have a Kodak Trendsetter, driven by Prinergy Evo. The system was installed in 2011, which replaced an Agfa system. We run the Kodak Thermal Direct plates. The pressroom loves the plates, and we have no issues with the Trendsetter. I would recommend going with Kodak. -Sev

Our main workflow is Nexus, which creates the 1bit tiffs. The tiffs are then sent to hotfolders on Prinergy Evo, which is our tiff catcher. The tiffs are processed in Prinergy, then passed to Print Console, which drives our Trendsetter. -Sev

Keep in mind that OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) does not have AppleTalk. So if you have printers that require AppleTalk, you will need to set up an older system running an OS prior to 10.6.8 to use for print sharing with your current system. -Sev
