Creating a PMS Duotone in Illustrator

Re: Creating a PMS Duotone in Illustrator I think someone mentioned it already, but I do this quite often by applying two fills to the same box. Here is the how to if you're interested: 1. Make a box (or whatever) and give it a fill with whatever spot color you are using. 2. Under the...

Negative Prints using "White" .eps file color coming out screened

Re: Negative Prints using "White" .eps file color coming out screened omg that was it!!!!!!!!! Printing the file color separated to make the negative postscript file worked perfectly. Not only that, the inverting come out correctly so there was no need to distill the file in Acrobat. This is...

Negative Prints using "White" .eps file color coming out screened

Re: Negative Prints using "White" .eps file color coming out screened So, this is really weird. I tried printing as a positive instead of a negative and this time, the .eps "white" showed clear (as it should have). But the .eps black showed as a screen of black and not solid. While the black...

Negative Prints using "White" .eps file color coming out screened

I posted a thread not long ago asking about how to correctly print negatives from Quark Xpress to a postscript file. I got some great responses and realized that there were settings I could change in my Acrobat Distiller to make the negative come out appropriately. Here is the new challenge...

Creating Negative postscript files from Quark

Re: Creating Negative postscript files from Quark I guess I'm not sure what you mean about using the Rip/Recoder. We put the finished postscript file into a hot folder for our RIP (Colorburst RIP). I didn't see a negative print option on that RIP. So, we use the negative option in Quark, which...

Creating Negative postscript files from Quark

For some reason, when I'm printing a postscript file from Quark and check the "negative" option, the content of the document does not reverse out properly. It seems that whatever is native to Quark (text, rules, etc.) work, but imported elements (like art files) do not reverse out. It will...

Scratching on Film Media from Epson 4800

I am having a problem with our Epson 4800 printer and our film media (it's on a roll). We are using the film to print negatives and then having the automatic cutter cut the film off the roll. We noticed that the film is coming out with a dotted scratch pattern on the last 3" of every piece. I...
