XMPie, Xerox Free Flow & iGen

It has been a while since I ran the iGen but I used to write PS from XMPie and then distill to PDF. The FreeFlow RIP only had a 70GB server so I had to chop it into pieces, then delete the jobs when finished printing. Also, check to make sure you are not RIPping the entire file before printing...

Peach colored discoloration of UV coated sheets

The only thing I could think of is that the cutter blade was dull which caused it to heat up and cook the edges which turned it peach colored.

how to adjust layout for creep

The sheet-to-sheet and side-to-side registration of your copier is probably the bigger issue than creep on a 20 pager.

    RIP Data Transform

Customer supplied PDF v1.3 set up with 4C plus PMS colors. When RIPped with the PMS set to 4C, the images dropped out. When RIPped as supplied, leaving PMS colors as spots, the images showed up. Rampage suggested using RDT to convert the spot PMS to process after RIPing.

    RIP Data Transform

Are you using it? Any useful tips or info you want to pass along? I had a job go bad and RDT was suggested as a way to solve the issue. There isn't much info in the manual. Thanks.

    linking old preps files

Are you asking whether Preps is using the Media size box in the PDF/FPO? I believe that it is. If you are opening an old Preps .job and the PDF/FPO has been changed then Preps will warn you that it has been changed. If the PDF/FPO is named the same, then depending on how you answer the...

    CIP3 PPF conversion for presses

Currently using Rampage to make PPF then combining/converting to DMA for setting ink keys to an Akiyama press. I am thinking that this takes too many steps and want to try to smooth it out. The conversion of the PPF can only be done one one workstation due to the software licensing. The program...

    Rampage beachball

Ours are all on dedicated boxes. I can't imagine that Rampage set-up your RIP, etc. all on the same server. Yikes, no wonder you are having issues. I haven't dealt with server issues in quite some time and will defer that advice to others. Make sure that no pages or jobs are running, turn off...

    Rampage beachball

If you have 3 clients RIPping files at once - how many RIPs do you have? We have two, each with a prescan, RIP and one has the proof output. If we have 3 clients on the RIP at once everything crawls. IMO, you are not getting past this. I usually have around 8,000-10,000 pages in the page list. I...

    Rampage beachball

10.6 here, are you waiting for the client to refresh? What are the refresh times set to in the prefs of the client? Is the delay from when you click open the monitor proof to when it actually opens the proof or in TrapEdit? How many pages are in your page list? When was the last time you...

    ID-designated PDF artbox?

I don't know about the boxes. What if you set the page size to the smaller size and then added bleed bringing the page size up to the larger size?

    How do we do this?

I don't know if anyone but MOO is able to purchase the paper though. You would need to ask your Mohawk rep.

    Xerox 700 Printing yellow

FreeFlow uses a profile to RIP the file to CMYK, whether or not it is CMYK already, and then uses another profile to RIP it to a destination profile that you have made. You need to print it using pass-through color. Does your FreeFlow have a printer profile in the Advanced Settings tab? It may...

Overprint Preview in Acrobat not Working

We may have a similar situation here. AcrobatX is previewing the PDF using the embedded profile and not showing the actual color. If I have a PDF with solid CMYK patches and I save it with an ICC profile the colors are viewed as being processed through the profile and not as the actual solid...
