I do not have access to the RICOH technical bulletin servers. I think they would be restricted access anyhow. I get them via the service personnel. I only had a paper copy.. Ask your technician about it, if he's any good he should be able to help..

Ricoh Technical bulletin No. RG178129 issued on 05/01/11 explains about the new fuser for increased fusing performance on thick materials. It is available in the EU already, not sure about the USA but it should be... hope this helps..

In the EU the fuser has been a user replaceable item since launch and it's very common in the EU for commercial printers to have two units upon delivery... looks like the US / NA sales people have screwed up here big time! As for media.. there is no relationship or correlation between the media...

The engine hardware is identical apart from the speed of the machine.. it all comes down to productivity, RIP features, finishing options and cost at the end of the day.. only you can decide that one..
