Need Advice & Reviews - Leasing a new light Production Press

I am jumping on the bandwagon here for advice. I too have to look at a light production printer for our organization (non-profit/inter-governmental). Our lease is up at the end of 2019. We are currently using a SHARP printer. Not entirely happy with the IT support, lack of Fiery (new models...

SHARP MX6240N and Samsung Multipress X7600LX

The problem was not solved. It was with a Sharp printer. I find the conversion to RGB quite sneaky and doesn't make me feel confident in trusting the print companies.

SHARP MX6240N and Samsung Multipress X7600LX

No, not this job. The two books I was printing didn't have crop/registrations marks and it was mixed black text and graphics. Update: I was sent a PS driver for the Samsung. That works as far as separating the colours properly. Too bad it was after the jobs ran :-( With the SHARP, I had to...

SHARP MX6240N and Samsung Multipress X7600LX

High quality print or PDF X/1A. I usually don't create PS files through distiller, but maybe that should be a regular practice.

SHARP MX6240N and Samsung Multipress X7600LX

Thank you for the explanation. It makes sense now. The Samsung doesn't have PS capabilities. The SHARP does, but the images, especially imported .eps images from Illustrator look blurry or fuzzy compared to when printing to the PCL6 driver. The PS driver distinguished the colour vs. black and...

SHARP MX6240N and Samsung Multipress X7600LX

I have a book document created in InDesign that is 90% black (k black not cmyk black) and about 10% colour. When I create the PDF and use the print production tools and view the output, I see that the colour vs. black and white is accurate. When I print to either printer listed about, it doesn't...

    Toshiba e-studio6540c vs. Sharp MS6240N or a 6500 (fiery)

Thanks for your discussions. I had the sales reps print copies of our documents and books and the Sharp was crisper in the black and whites and they were comparable for colour. The Sharp specs were stronger as far as robustness. Maybe things have changed in the last 2-3 years for both. What...

    Toshiba e-studio6540c vs. Sharp MS6240N or a 6500 (fiery)

Our organization is looking to purchase one of these printers. We print books, booklets, posters, calendars, brochures (folding), print material with a lot of text, some graphics, need saddle-stitching, folding, good, crisp quality for text and graphics, print on tricky waterproof paper...

Konica Minolta C6501 bizhub - Duplexing from tray 4-12x18

I forgot to mention I'm trying to run cover stock, but I don't think it will let me. It is 10pt cover, which may be too thick. I looked at the specs in the manual.

Konica Minolta C6501 bizhub - Duplexing from tray 4-12x18

I am not having success in duplexing from tray 4 - 12x18 sheets. Is this even possible, and if so, what can I do to remedy it. Currently when I send the job, once it processes, it hangs in the Fiery screen, but then doesn't print and goes idle. Any advice or feedback would be great. Thx.

    Konica C6501 and polyester/plastic paper

Thank you for the suggestions. The big question is whether I can get this paper in the Maritimes. Our suppliers don't always carry these specific type of papers. If there is a supplier here that you deal with, e.g. Unisource or The Paper House, then let me know.

Konica Minolta C6501 is converting greyscale pdfs to color

Follow-up Follow-up Hi, I discovered that I had to specify greyscale vs. colour pages in the fiery set-up. Someone actually uploaded a screenshot of what it looks like at the initial start of the thread. It's under the mixed media tab. That did work.

    KM C6501-duplexing

I was wondering if there is any way the operator can adjust the duplexing on the KM? When I duplex business cards, the crop marks do not line up properly. I double checked my work and they are imposed properly. Does a technician need to come in and make adjustments in order to perfect it? Any...

I assume this is waterproof, which is important for some of the books we publish since they go on boats and are handled by fishermen.

    Konica C6501 and polyester/plastic paper

Question to Anyone: Do you know of any plastic paper that will print successfully through a KM C6501 that isn't TYVEK? Tyvek prints very well on it, but I tried Polyart and the sheet melted in the fuser! There isn't a way I can lower the temp. of the fuser either. Any suggestions, hints or ideas...

Konica Minolta C6501 is converting greyscale pdfs to color

Let me explain... I printed a 192 page book on the C6501 and noticed on my utility counter that the Fiery/Konica was seeing the greyscale images as color. This was after I had converted the cmyk grey image to greyscale in photoshop. It also reads the black and white pdfs that I originally...

    Konica Minolta C6501 scanning problems

Problem is solved. Had to reboot the printer, fiery component on the printer and unplug the printer. Then restarted everything; it seemed to work after that. I have found this printer to be very finicky in many ways.
