Our 700 is getting worse and worse with registration, and like a previous poster said "1 mil ya right!" :(

I refused to work on a job we had in the shop once that the client wanted a SI Cover scanned to use in print. I explained myself to the Prez of the company about it, and he actually wound up refusing to do the job for the client.

on our Xerox 700 we've had to replace the corotron a couple times when we noticed black screens looking muddy.

the image you posted is rather small and hard to get a good look at. Before printing, do the images look okay in Photoshop?

When we did Hexachrome years ago, the photoshop images had to be RGB and then the HEX plug in would convert them to HEX.

Craig, we use to lie to our Xerox 700 when running 100# cover telling it that it was 200 GSM. Worked fine till a set of "plastic" gears wore down from doing that.

we make spot dylux's of changed pages and staple them over the old page. Then everyone can see what it was and what changed, along with a "final proof" sticker on the new approved dylux.

As others have stated, if you want to keep the customer you need to work on a resolve which in the end will more then likely mean your company eats the $ or there is some sort of split for reprinting. Seems most designers think their work is the end all be all, what they don't realize alot of...

I'm not sure how much the presses cost or what our click charges are, but the specs on the Xerox 700 for the 20# on 8.5 x 11 is 70 ppm.

we also had another gradient job today as well with no luck. Another round of new developer housings tomorrow in the a.m.
