    XMPIE Umerge

So I just bought XMPIE Umerge with the hope that it would be faster on large runs than Indesign data merge. So far the only option I found to export was as single page pdfs. I have a mailer going that is 28,000 pieces. I know I can export 28,000 files and combine them in Acrobat but is seems...

    Inline or offline?

The Versant 80 does pretty good on textured stocks if you take the time to properly set up the profiles. I have not had any stock that we were unable to print.

    Inline or offline?

Looks like it doesn't do 13x19 sheets. That would be a must for us. We do thousands of 9x12 calendars every year that are printed on 13x19

    2nd BTR area

We have replaced at least 4 or 5 second btr on the Versant 80. I don't remember that being much of an issue on the C75. On the C75 we had mostly developer housing issues.

    Xerox supplies backordered

Is anyone else having issues with supplies being backordered? Normally our orders have been shipping next day from Xerox. The last few weeks Versant 80 supplies are taking up to a week to ship out.

    Xerox C560 and Auto Duplex

The 560 is not rated for duplexing coated stocks. I have a 550 and have the same issue. I just set it as uncoated at the right gsm and it will run ok most of the time.

Versant 2100 Owners, whats the duplex registration like on your machine?

I had an issue similar to this on the Versant 80. Registration used to be dead on but was drifting bad on the back side. They changed my whole registration assembly with no luck. So we started testing and found it was only doing it from the high cap feeders. The machine trays ran fine. It turned...

    Envelopes through Versant 80

Our Versant 80 is pretty much dead on. You will need to run alignment profiles for every stock you run but after that it has been very accurate. If you are seeing bad skews on the 80 something must not be set up right.

Loaded Versant 80 or Versant 2100?

What kind of volume are you doing? We have a Versant 80 without the performance package and are doing about 150k per month. The 80 is a major upgrade from the 75 series. We have had no developer issue like we did on the C75. I have run approx 325k since the last service call and still do not...

Xerox J75 Service Agreement Toner question

That is exactly the way ours are now. The first one that we bought from Comdoc was serviced by them. They are owned by Xerox but sell and service their own machines. Just because a company is owned by Xerox does not mean they are Xerox. We found out that there is a major difference.

Xerox J75 Service Agreement Toner question

I am the guy that had the Comdoc machine. The sales rep promised me the same thing, we would never hit the mark where they charge extra. I found out too late that nothing the sales rep said was true. After they had the contract the didn't care. They even tried to charge me for parts to fix my...

What Is the Difference Between Offset Printing and Digital Printing?

90% of our customers will never see a difference in quality from our jobs and offset. The new digital presses are to the point where there is very little difference. Our new Xerox Versant 80 even does a decent matte finish.
