    Stahl folder fault

We don't have a Stahl, but my Baum 20/20 has the same code for your red emergency stop button is engaged. Check you stops, we have 2 on our folder

    Quarter Folding Process....

Just as Bill said, we use our horizon knife folder. Set up the hand feed unit and it folds nearly as fast as you can feed them, and looks great. We have a job of 1200 we do once a month.

    Polar 78 Message

If it's anything like our Challenge, which I had the same problem as you at first.... there is a diagnostic/ service mode. You should be able to enter into that and reset your knife change, cut count and lube warnings to zero. If you have your users manual, it should show the steps, mine did.

    Duplo DC10 Picking Up Doubles

As a press operator for 25 years AND bindery guy.....ya better hope the answer to your duplo feeding problem is a tricky one - not a 'can't believe i didn't think of that' one. (and doesn't read this forum) ;) Anyhow, I agree with RGPW, 20lb isn't the easiest to set up for doubles detection...

    MemJet Technology

Purchased directly from Neopost. Getting a service tech here is not a problem, he's here frequently. "The machine should never need a tank replacement at 20-30% left". Lol...indeed. We have been informed by the technician that this is to ensure that the tank does not run out, which causes all...

    MemJet Technology

The "boss" thought it would replace our offset/envelope printer because we do a fair amount of variable data on envelopes. I agree with everyone here that says the quality is poor. If the envelope gets a microscopic drop of water...it runs. The ink is pretty spendy, and it will not run when...

    AB Dick 9800 series/Ryobi 3200/Itek 975 question

No problem, you'd be surprised at how inexpensive a good used 3302 would cost you. Good luck!

    AB Dick 9800 series/Ryobi 3200/Itek 975 question

I work in a large school district, and we have Ryobi 3302 2 color with a Kompac, and an ABDick 9970. In my opinion the Ryobi is a MUCH better built press. We can run anything that the 9970 will run on the 3302, and the 2-4 color as well. The ABDick has had a lot of work done on it, and we're...

Line on our plates going down the plate

We had an old DPM that was driving us crazy with lines on the plates. It turned out to be scratches on the metal inside the processor as the plate was being guided through the developer....that's where I would start.

Did anyone ask for your input?

LOL...I know EXACTLY what you're saying. My manager (1.5 years in the biz) is meeting with our copier vendor as i'm typing to discuss configuration and component choices. Considering we do 25 million + per year on 6 1107's, you'd think the production coordinator would be involved.

    Length of lease

Here's a good reason NOT to sign an 84 month lease.....you're stuck with it for 84 months. What if you find the copier doesn't fit your needs 3-4 years into the lease? Technology is changing so rapidly, it's crazy to sign up for something that will be 'old' in just a couple years. They may...

Advice - Considering New Light Production Machines

The only banding issues I have heard about are with the C651 and the C751. That has since been resolved...from what I hear. I went and checked out a C651 machine that was in a production environment and the operator stated he had no problems with this. Guess we'll find out, we're getting a...

Advice - Considering New Light Production Machines

We have been running Ricoh machines exclusively for several years, having just awarded a new 3 year bid this week. We run 4 - 1107's and 2 907's. We put over 25mil on the six machines per year. VERY happy with the quality and service we receive. We used Canon and Oce prior to switching to...

Opinion/Advice on turnaround time for binding booklets

Actually we ARE the districts Reprographics Dept (no offense taken) ;) We've got 6 High Schools with an average run of 2,500. We have 1 week to print (yes, offset) and finish all the programs - 2 - 11x17 b/b saddle stitched. The cover is in school colors (up to 2) and inside page single...

Opinion/Advice on turnaround time for binding booklets

We are offset as well as Digital, probably 50/50. The only issue we have had with pulling digital copies is curl. If the operators...big IF....pay attention to this, knowing it will be running through a folder or the Horizon, it's no problem. I would say curl is the only issue. We run...

Opinion/Advice on turnaround time for binding booklets

I have been running Standard Horizon collators for 20 years. Current model is a Vac 100 with two towers and a face trimmer. That book would take about 30 minutes to complete....from set up to finish. If you're running the same size books frequently, you just program the collator and all the...
