Those roller need replacing from time to time, The rubber just gets worn out by preasure and chemicals just like any other press roller. Some fountain solutions are better for Crestlines and Kompac than others. What press, plate, fount solution and ink are you using.

You can use a 5-ply, they are usually .102 to .103. 3-ply are around .065 to .067. The under blanket should not be an adheasive one. Those are usually a 2 part "polyfibron" type blanket system with a backer and facer.
