    How to judge paper quality?

Shrink-wrapping is quite effective for mitigating humidity issues with paper. We store all blank paper back in the carton it came from or shrink-wrap it and put it on a shelf outside of the carton. I think you should try that out and see how you like it. None of our completed jobs sit naked...

    Rough Q1 for Xerox!

With the install numbers so low, it's easy to predict that their future revenues from those potential installs are also going to be affected. I was thinking earlier today about how reliable my V180 has been. We had the drum debacle of course, but the drums I'm getting now last so long that it...

    How to judge paper quality?

I would call your paper manufacturers and ask them what you should be doing. They're the right people to ask imo.

Can you post a picture of the snail cartridges you are talking about?

    Xerox C60 White Line

Maybe there is an obstruction directly below the cyan drum that is exactly that wide. It could cause that same issue, right?

    Identifying High Quality Print Companies

If you hire the wrong people, you can end up with nasty employee reviews. It took me about ten years to figure out that a lot of the designers we have been hiring have been bottom of the barrel in terms of character and morals. It took me a long time on top of that to learn how to spot those...

Marks Lead Edge to Trail Edge

Can you see the lines on the 2nd BTR? I know you said it's new, but if you were running coated stock only since it was replaced, that might cause the issue.

    Acrobat SO SLOW...

Wow, you guys really love the current Adobe Acrobat?! Well I've got news for you, we've redesigned the entire UI! It's super cool now. Where are the buttons from before? That's a horrible question! How dare you question our UX design decisions?! Our super talented work from home 20 hour per week...

    Canva acquires Affinity apps

I think this is amazing news. Adobe is losing market share very quickly to Canva, and the more pressure on them, the better.

Print Shop Departments and who goes where?

Yes they need to be located in your print building. Sounds like upper management couldn't justify a building that could house everyone, but don't let them tank production efficiencies by half-assing where people should be. Hell, everyone should be in the same building.

Xerox Versant 180 wrinkles in paper

Both parts, the "idler gears" are the culprit. You should be able to see the wear.

Xerox Versant 180 wrinkles in paper

The weird thing is we run light stock all the time, but I kid you not, the issue cropped up last year when we went to run a bunch of 84 page catalogs, 80# C Lynx + 50# T Lynx, and the booklets had wrinkled pages, it took 3-5 days to figure out the root of the issue back then. Sure enough, this...

Xerox Versant 180 wrinkles in paper

I'm pretty sure it was a worn out gear that operates the speed of either the second BTR, the IBT, or the bottom half of the fuser. We've had the issue twice, exactly one year apart. I'm pretty sure it's an IBT gear.

Xerox Versant 180 wrinkles in paper

I just had this issue last week, let me ask what it was. Is that going lengthwise or widthwise?

How do you store custom paper sizes on Versant 80?

Under Custom Paper Profiles when logged in as admin I think.

    Color Registration

Sometimes this issue crops up and a simple restart will bring it back into alignment. I'm sure you have already tried that, but it's worth knowing color-to-color registration can be fixed that easily, sometimes.

    Xerox 2nd BTR

Pretty sure they are trained to talk this way. I've only met one tech that admits the problems. The rest just spin in circles until you get frustrated. It's almost like they are trained to paint you as a conspiracy theorist. "A what? Gloss destroying 2nd BTR? You're making that up!"
