    UV printing on wood in southern Ontario??

    Does anyone know if there is a printer in southern Ontario that can print UV inks on wood (hardwood boards)? Google doesn't, but I find that hard to believe.

    Are there any standard practices that decide when to shingle in, or out? I have a reasonably good knowledge of the mechanics, but would like to know if there are any things to consider that I haven't thought of.

    Do binderies use CIP4 standards for folding patterns?

    I have noticed that although JDF and MBO folding patterns have been standardized for years, many companies still manually rule-up the same signatures over and over again, instead of quoting a CIP4 pattern with dimensions. Is there a problem with JDF and MBO folding patterns?

    I think anyone that has run a press knows reality is different from the sales pitch. Does anyone have some "real life" times for make ready, clean up and impression/hr?

    Consiistent-excessive dot gain/TVI on all units.

    I am baffled as are the three experts we've brought in to help figure out what is going on. We have a 30+% gain (23% TVI@ density) at 50 that appeared on all four units recently. The dot looks a little soft on edges, but is not slurred, not doubling, not emulsified, not picking/snowflakes...
