    anicolor metallic ink

Anyone try running metallic ink on an anicolor? If so did you achieve a color match? I'm currently using a 12 cell roller and can only get abouit half density to book.

    SM 52

Thanks for info. I thank you may be right with your analysis. I corrected the problem by unplugging the main drive motor and plugging it back in. That must have reset something internally. No problems since then. Thanks again.

    SM 52

Starting cold press this morning. Makeready first job with no problems. Start saving and ran approx 200 sheets and press hard stops. Show Main drive: Malfunction. It has done this 3 more times. Location is 90 which I'm assuming is the electrical control cabinet. No fuses have blown out...

    Anicolour squeaks!

I run the same press and have had the same issue you stated on rare occasions. It could be several things. Check to make sure chamber blade is installed and seated correctly. Watermark on blade facing the anilox roller. Replace chamber felts and lubricate with roller lube. Double check that...

Missregistration between fist and second printing station.

Just a thought. Check the squeeze (gap) between your transfer jacket(s) and the back impression cylinder. When you said it gets worse with thinner paper it makes me wonder if there is to much play between cylinders. If there is to much gap the sheet will tend to wiggle more and cause...

    Anicolor printing issues

I'm out of ideas to help you. Also I'm not familiar dealing with a press that was converted from UV ink to oil ink either. I suggest you get a Heidelberg tech back in there that is trained to deal with these kind of problems to help you unitil the problem is remedied. Good Luck!

    Anicolor printing issues

I don't know how much help I can be to you but I will give you a list of simple things to check. When I say double hit when running PMS spot color jobs I meant one plate solid and the other plate 50% screen on 2 units. This helps with color matching and ink laying flat and smooth on press...

    Anicolor printing issues

Or ink emulsified as well. I had a supervisor insisting on purchasing generic water form and pan rollers for my press 2-3 years ago to save money. I constantly had problems with emulsifying. Finally to prove a point I purchased with my own money 2 rollers (water form) from Heildelberg and my...

    Anicolor printing issues

I’m pretty sure that is not the cells showing up on the press sheet as they are to random in size and pattern. I have found that the anicolor press is not actually geared towards running pms (Pantone) inks. It’s been my experience that about half of the pms jobs I have ran on the anicolor need a...

    Anicolor printing issues

I find it hard to believe that you can actually see the cells from the anilox roller printing onto press sheet. There are 2 rider rollers and an ink form blanket that smooths the ink before it contacts the plate. I've ran an anicolor for 8 years and have never seen that before. If you could...

    SM 52 Anicolor Ink

Checking to see what everyone is using for ink on their anicolor press. Brand etc. What kind of issues if any you are having. My ink company has changed the formula on me and now have issues with color matching proofs and ink mess on ink chamber blades etc.

GTO 52 Single Color Press feeder & Impression Problem

Check the rubber pads under the 2 grippers that take the sheet from the suction bar for wear. If they are worn the press may not sense a sheet properly as there is air passed through these. I have replaced these and problem disappears in the past.

    Anicolor printing issues

I'm not sure what you mean by fm and am. I know that we tried doing staccato screening on my press once and it caused similiar issues so we went back to original format. Some dot patterns are not compatible with anilox rollers because of the concept and screen angle on the roller itself. A...

    Yellow ink contamination?

I agree. Ink sequence is KCMY. Ink company changed their formulation on ink to us. Said they were no longer going to make that ink specifically for my press. So we were to adjust our curves to their new formula. Turned out that the cyan is a much higher density now and it was migrating into...

    Yellow ink contamination?

I am currently using an agitator. Part of me has to wonder if the brand of ink I'm using is the problem. The press is an SM 52 anicolor. I don't remember having this much of a problem when we were using Saphira ink provided by Heidelberg. Of course everything is about cost savings these days...

    Yellow ink contamination?

How do you prevent yellow ink from being contaminated by v,c and magenta via blanket? Yellow becomes very dirty looking in the ink chamber. Thoughts?

Do you run the Heidelberg SM-52 Anicolor press

I'm guessing that if the previous owner had to refill glycol on a regular basis that he had a leak in the system somewhere. I had leaks on my press after the first year we used it. Found out that the European hose clamps only tighten so far and then it would eventually start to leak there...

Do you run the Heidelberg SM-52 Anicolor press

You do not manually fill the anilox roller itself. You refill the system in your technotrans unit which feeds your anilox rollers via circulation in and out so as you adjust temps your roller becomes warm or cold accordingly. Just wondering. Have you had any training on this press?
