Accuset 1000 Plus

This machine manual leads me to believe, but I have been unsuccessful, at installing via TCP/IP without Appletalk. Hardware RIP, nothing external.
Is this possible?
The inputs for the machine (I have two identicle) are Imagesetter, Ethernet, Centronics, RS232C & Local Talk.
I have enabled TCP/IP from the machine options.

Do you mean RIP Star400 connected to Accuset?

The Accuset 1000 Pus has an on board (?) HDD which functions as the RIP. (Right?)
Yes, when I was selecting ppd's back in another front end, we would select Star 400 or Star 800 RIP.

HDD is a part of RIP... plus Onboard RIP.
Do you have transciever (small) box at 15-pin Ethernet connector? Twisted pair or coaxial R50 cable?

Yep, small box plugged into the Ethernet port, twisted pair cable.

Did you follow that steps from pages 5-14 and 5-15 from Accuset User Guide?

How to Adjust the RIP Comm Setting
The RIP Comm setting specifies the communication protocol between
your RIP and front end.
• If you have an external RIP, refer to the RIP manual.
• If you have an internal RIP, follow the procedure described below.
Step 1: Find out what type of communication setting you need to receive
data from the front end of your system. The settings
you can choose on the AccuSet are
Appletalk,
Centronics,
TCP/IP,
or Serial.
Step 2: Take the AccuSet off line.
• Press ON LINE.
• The message Off Line appears in the control panel message
display.
Step 3: Access the RIP communication setting.
• Press OPTION, then ENTER.
• The message Wrong Read appears.
• Press SELECT until the message RIP Comm Switch appears.
Step 4: Select a communication setting.
• Press either arrow key to move the cursor to the description
field.
• Press SELECT until the correct communication setting appears.
• Press either arrow key to move the cursor to its home position,
under the R in RIP Comm Switch. See the figure
below.

• Press ENTER. The AccuSet stores this new setting.
Step 5: Reset the AccuSet.
• Turn off the AccuSet. Press the side of the power switch
labeled O.
• Turn on the AccuSet. Press the side of the power switch
labeled I.
• When the system restarts, it uses the new communication
setting.

Yep yep, I've followed all those steps. As the machine starts there is a quick screen which shows 0-CEN 1-SER 3-TP 4-Apl 5-TCP/IP 5 is than shown underlined informing me that TCP/IP is in use. (Why did they omit 2??)
I guess I'm wondering how or why not my PC's and Mac do not see the machine, or if I can see it via a network address...
I have some Agfaset folders I have been keeping, ancient interface program I'm reluctant to get into.

Possible reasons:
You do not have all TCP/IP files at RIP Hard disk or file/files corrupted.
You have broken chip (responsible for ethernet protocol) at RIP board.
You have blown F (ethernet) fuse at RIP board.
