Prinergy Evo 5.1.6.11

If anybody can please enlighten us. Lately we are experiencing this when we turn on the machine "A drum flyoff is detected.." Sometimes even if the machine has already ejected the plate, the same error occurs. What is annoying is that this happens when there is no plate in the drum. If this happens, we open the machine and just rotate the drum - and the ctp is ready to accept jobs again.

The kodak support personnel here says the drum amplifier needs to be replaced. But a second opinion says no way the cause of the anomaly is the drum amplifier because we can still operate the machine after the drum is rotates.

We already cleaned the sensors but still the error occurs.

Anybody experienced this and resolved the problem please help.

The firmware monitors the doors and it will not clear a flyoff status unless you physically open the door. If you turn the power off before opening the doors, the status will be remembered and you will have to open/close the door again.
The flyoff detection system is independent of the drum motor/amplifier. If you experience false flyoff messages the sensors will need to be aligned or replaced.
If the kodak tech said the drum amplifier needs replacement there must be some other messages besides flyoffs.

check the ir sensors near the drum they must have moved its position (recalibrate) them as they see the drum and think it is a plate.
