Drupa long term

This Drupa is a tremendous showcase for INKJET. I am concerned about the long term ramifications of this technology. What are going to be the effects on the paper industry and its ability to absorb the ink-jetted fiber? How will the printing companies get rid of their ink-jetted scrap? Will the printers have to completely segregate their waste streams as ink-jetted and conventional? Will we be forced to landfill ink-jetted material if we cannot find a scrap buyer?
Does anybody have any suggestions or sources for the use of ink-jetted scrap?

First let's inform ourselves about the problem hinted to in the Green Printer post:

Little if anything has changed in almost 2 years since the Great Deinking Keruffle blog. Looks like the DPDA http://thedpda.org/about-dpda/about-dpda is KAPUT.

On behalf of the DPDA (HP, Infoprint, Kodak and Oce), we indeed have been investigating the concerns about aqueous inkjet printing and its potential impact on paper recycling. For many worldwide recyclers, this is not an issue today. However we recognize it is a very complex topic, and sometimes assumptions are made that lead to misleading or overly simplistic conclusions . The DPDA continues our funding of scientific research and support of collaborative approaches with industry stakeholders (including INGEDE) to better understand the recycling process and how our products can be effectively incorporated into all recycling systems if and when the need arises.

If and when the need arises. DPDA I do think that we have reached that point.
