As a point of interest...this 'toon posting is the 200th RE:print posted on PrintPlanet.

When PrintPlanet asked to publish this strip back at GraphExpo in 2009 I had 3 strips done and hoped to have ideas for maybe 7 more (if I was lucky). So it's quite a surprise to me to have hit this milestone. AFAIK RE:print is still the only cartoon strip based on the graphic arts industry. It's a lot of fun for me to do. Ideas come from my experiences as well as some of the threads in these forums. The ideas will sometimes come to me suddenly in batches of 2 or 3 - sometimes in my sleep - so I have my iPod handy to record any ideas that pop into my head.

What is really rewarding for me is to read the posts that any particular 'toon precipitates. I do try to make them "enlightening" in a humorous way - something that forum members would share with fellow workers and their families.

The number of views (and likes) that the strip receives is also very rewarding - RE:print generates by far the most viewed postings on the forum. WOW!

Here are a few of the most popular:

PS: Yes RE:print contains :p

Thank you, Gordon, for RE:print.
It is very exciting to open regularly a new post of Re:print with subtle and sharp sense of humor.
Some of 'toons I still hesitate to spread out outside our prepress room. ;)

Congratulations on the 200th Re:print within PrintPlanet

I've always enjoyed reading Re:print.
I can identify with Re:print as it shows what we deal with on a day to day basis within the Printing Industry.

My personal favorite is: "Preflight Poker"

Recently temped at a small high street copy shop who had an inovative approach, they showed customers a VistaPrint manufactured business card and next to it their own manufactured business card along with a colour laser toner proof and the artwork onscreen. They compared the costs and then said: what happens if there is a problem?
Here you can come into the shop and speak to the person who actually printed your card and sort things out directly to your own satisfaction. Try doing that over the internet. Most customers were sold at simply seeing the actual products compared side by side.

This is delightful. That is, after all, what we offer. Right?

Congrats Gordo. Sometimes, in my busy world, RE:print is the only reason I log on if it's been a few weeks.

Thanks and keep 'em comin'. :p
