This is a page with info on the new EskoArtwork plugin for Adobe Illustrator that performs interactive trapping of objects in your Ai file. Fast and easy, . . . and pretty darn cool.

The online movie is very descriptive of iTrap - EskoArtwork News Overview

Also once you download the free trial and install iTrap you will find the user manual in the Adobe Illustrator Help Menu -> EskoArtwork -> EskoArtwork Help -> iTrap .
You can read the manual prior to choosing to activate the free trial period.

Download at - Download free trial DeskPack, Studio and Visualizer Software
PS - You will not be asked for any personal information to just download the trial software.

Humm, I cannot seem to get this plug in to work. An example:

A yellow(PMS 012) box that lays over a red box (PMS Warm Red). I can use the Trap to All Tool and I get the appropriate trap between the yellow and red. Interesting, though the trap is not set to overprint it still does.

However, if I lay the yellow box over two boxes with different colors, a light blue and a dark green, and try the Trap to Objects tool to get the yellow to trap to the dark green I get the "no common edge could be found for trapping" message.

If I read the instructions correctly, I ought to be able to use the Trap to Objects tool to first trap the yellow under the blue and then use it again to trap the yellow under the dark green after I reset the trap width to be larger.

Also, the help shows just a small circle with an arrow when using the Trap to Objects tool, but mine draws a box over the first color and then I can drag an arrow from that box to the color I want to, but do not seem to be able to, trap to.

What am I missing?

Apparently, you are click-dragging (this explains the box you get). Just click once in the 'from' and once in the 'to' object to create a single trap.

This should be all clearly explaned in the (short) manual.
