Job Summary:
Provide direction, and support for Print Production Strategy and Methods used in Business Services. Primarily responsible for the effective execution of print production functions across the entire print asset base including Stores, Production Facilities, and Third-Parties. The Manager of Production will coordinate with Operations to assure that print assets are properly selected, distributed, and operated in order to meet or exceed fulfillment expectations
Primary Responsibilities:
Play a key role in the consistent execution of production strategy to drive productivity and maximize profitability, in conjunction with all members of the operations group.
Rationalize print production and finishing assets to meet both current and emerging business requirements. This includes the research and testing of all new assets and supplies prior to introduction into the production environment and overall fleet management.
Responsible for Productivity as a basis for cost and speed competitiveness.
Responsible for establishing self and others within the production and operations teams as “super-users” of in store and production facility technology to drive responsiveness to the field.
Manage aspects of Production and Finishing including; Printing and Finishing Hardware, Print Production Management Software, RIP management, and define impacts to Production Labor Management.
Develop and coordinate with the operations teams, the execution of the asset strategy across the production network including stores, Production Facilities, and Outsourced Services. This will include any Production Facility specialization by product type.
Partner with Operations to develop a value-optimized production strategy.
Partner with SPS and SPP to assure production optimization and minimize redundancy across the entire Staples print business.
Define key production partner requirements with hardware, supplies, and software partners like Xerox, HP, NowDocs and EFI
Basic
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 5-8 years related work experience
Preferred
Production Experience: In-Depth knowledge of print production equipment and management tools. Understands the “science” of the technology and the industry.

Communication: Strong verbal, written and email communication and listening skills
