I can't EVEN imagine trying to manually trap everything. It would be way too time consuming. There are times though that we do have to manually trap some things as our RIP isn't always 100% accurate when trapping.
In 15 years of high-qality printing on sheetfed presses, I've only had to manually trap a handful of jobs (maybe 6 or 7 that I can recall). However, I do always check the automatic in-rip trapping to make sure it does what I want it to. If it doesn't for some reason, I just edit the settings and re-trap.
Automatically Autonomous Automation
Although the autonomous car is not quite ready, a lights out print operation is something you can do right now if you have a comprehensive Print MIS (Management Information System). The advantages can put money on your bottom line. So what’s your next step?
