manual or automatic trapping

I can't EVEN imagine trying to manually trap everything. It would be way too time consuming. There are times though that we do have to manually trap some things as our RIP isn't always 100% accurate when trapping.

Personally I use a mix of both and I never use trapping in RIP, either automatic or manual trapping within Packedge.

In 15 years of high-qality printing on sheetfed presses, I've only had to manually trap a handful of jobs (maybe 6 or 7 that I can recall). However, I do always check the automatic in-rip trapping to make sure it does what I want it to. If it doesn't for some reason, I just edit the settings and re-trap.
