Okay, I'm an IT guy, not a prepress guy, so bare with me. We're running a Windows 2000 Server machine which hosts Nexus software for rips. There's a client app on a mac that passes the data through to Nexus. We recently had to replace the power supply in the machine. The computer was freezing up all the time, now it is not. We decided, since it's an ugly rack mount that's a pain to get back in, that we'd upgrade the RAM while we were replacing the power supply. All is well according to Windows, showing all RAM chips. However, from the Mac client software, we can now only use just over 600 MB of RAM, or 16% of the available RAM. I guess previously, we could use 70% of available RAM (which might drop to 35%, since we've doubled the RAM). However, only allowing 1/4 the total RAM usage. Any ideas from you Nexus experts?
