As mentioned in the thread you linked to, the oki’s are incredibly expensive to run. I have known people who’s machines have died completely through using compatible toners too so you can’t even cheap out on the toner reliably to bring costs down.

It is definitely worth looking to see if you can get a refurbished Xerox/Konica etc on a service agreement. Cost per click will be pennies and you’ll have an engineer on site should anything go wrong.

We actually found that there are plenty of Xerox dealers that list on eBay. If you buy from a proper dealer, you can usually get a service contract too.
