Opening for a Print Production Manager- Farmingdale, NY

Wilen New York has an opening for an energetic, solution-oriented, hands-on Print Production Manager to join our team. The Print Production Manager will report to the Vice President and interface with all company departments including: Sales, Client Services, Creative, Data Management, Digital and IT as well as outside company vendors.

Requirements for the Print Production Manager include:
• A professional-level understanding and proficiency across all aspects of direct mail printing and lettershop operations.
• An ability to develop and maintain schedules in-house and with external vendors.
• Holistically looking at our clients and gathering job requirements by understanding the client’s marketing objectives, data segmentation, etc., enabling the Print Production Manager to make sound business decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• A proactive approach and continuously seeking excellence in creative outputs and execution of tasks.
• Experience in print estimating.
• Producing and distributing Purchase Orders.
• Writing lettershop instructions for complex direct mail campaigns.
• Signing off on production-related items during the creative routing process to ensure all jobs are being completed according to job specifications.
• Ability to work within a defined agency project workflow as well as the ability to make recommendations for refining that workflow.
• Analyzing print specifications to ensure that all job requirements, quality expectations, artwork availability and delivery dates are clearly identified and achieved.
• Interfacing regularly with management and staff to manage production priorities and complete projects.

The optimal candidate possesses the following:
• 7+ years direct mail experience - including knowledge of offset printing (web, sheet-fed, continuous form, and inline finishing); digital printing.
• 7+ years mailing services experience – including lettershop, postal, and mail logistics.
• Extensive pre-press and printing knowledge including variable data printing.
• PC and Mac experience including proficiency in MS Office (primarily Word and Excel) and ability to view files via In Design, Photoshop & Illustrator software systems.
• Experience working with teams in the following agency departments: print production, studio, creative and account/project management.
• Energetic, self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while handling a high volume of complex projects.
• An understanding of the creative and print production processes, as well as strong print production skills.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced studio/production environment
• Very strong time management and troubleshooting skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Foundation in project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
