To complement our rapidly growing business we are seeking a bright and highly motivated Software Specialist for our Braintree, MA location. This position will utilize and improve existing technology as well as develop new technologies to improve the business processes of the company and streamline the work of its employees.


Ownership of in-house PrintSmith plant management application
Implementation of feature sets
Update and improve estimating and ticketing processes
Job costing and reporting
Work scheduling
Custom reports
Pricing updates

Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications

Specialize in print technology and assist in implementing an automated printing factory through software integration and print industry established methodologies and standards

Maintain a leading edge level of technical knowledge through the use of provided training opportunities and self study

Provide assistance and backup for internal IT functions


BS Degree in software engineering or related field; experience in programming/analysis, including designing and developing complex programs from detailed specifications for automated, enterprise level applications and systems.

Proficient in current programming technology and Microsoft operating systems required

Strong knowledge of JDF, PostScript, PDF, Print Drivers, and other digital print technology is essential. Experience with PDF4NET, Adobe’s PDF Library, or other PDF libraries and programming toolboxes a big plus.

Knowledge of MVVM, Client-side scripting (JavaScript, VBScript, AJAX), Graphic Design, HTML, XML, and IIS is a plus

Familiar with or has experience in Test Driven Development [TDD] and Lean / Agile development processes; Microsoft MSDN, Microsoft Patterns and Practices, Platform SDK, and TechNet documentation
