Morning All,
I'm not a trained press operator in the sense i learned a formal qualification, we installed a 4 colour B3 press about 6 years ago and i learnt from our day minder, i ran the press through the night.
Long story short, printing offset was a great choice for our business and has been a great success, we since installed another press, a 5 colour B3.
The problem is, i can run the machine no problem, makeready fine, setting curves and all the gizmos and gadgets are great but to my shame i can't set the roller stripes (inking and damping).
Problem being, every time i'm shown it tends to be an age before i need to adjust the settings, so its slipped the old grey cells.
I wanted to know is there any books that explain the principal, roller layout etc? i can be shown physically which bits effect which pressures but i want to understand the principals, then it'll sink in for sure.
Tim
