Production Scanner Solution

Hi we are looking for a relatively low-cost production scanner solution. We don't do a ton of camera ready work these days...less and less, but we still have enough that we do need to keep a working production scanner in house. We have been using Docutech 135s with a Docujob Converter (for making a PS file or 6180 file out of the scans), but it just died on us and having it serviced/replaced is not economical for a system this old/limited purpose. So while we can still scan on the 135s, anything we scan is confined to that old Docutech format, which is okay for small runs that we will never reprint (who knows how much longer we can keep the 135s), but for bigger jobs that do get produced periodically we would of course prefer to use our 6180s as they are cheaper and faster to run. We don't really need the scanner to be color capable, though if the cost difference were reasonable then we'd probably go for it. I've looked at the Xerox Freeflow Scanner but the cost ($15k??) is a bit much for what we intend to use it for...so I was thinking maybe we could get a second hand Digipath?

Quality/speed doesn't have to be absolutely top-notch, but obviously we want something more efficient to use than a flatbed...and being able to scan to PDF is essential. We're not particular on brand, just like to know what's out there that works decently and is priced reasonably.
