Rena Mach 5 Mid Job Servicing settings

With the latest drivers installed, 6/07/2014, there are now 6 Mid-Job Servicing settings starting with Default, 1- 4 and off. When we first received our machine there was one setting which was default and the machine would stop after approximately 63 envelopes (portrait) 134 envelopes (landscape) and go through a clean up routine that would last anywhere from 1 minute to 3 minutes. On long production runs it can stop as many as 3-4 times with every box of 500 envelopes. With the newest firmware and setting the machines mid-job servicing to "4" it will stop after 500 or more for servicing which means faster production times. The only issue is that the printhead clogs frequently which forces the user into manually cleaning it with deionized water and the Rena cartridge wipes which seems to wear the printhead out prematurely. Does setting the mid job servicing to default actually save the print head? Why are there the other 5 settings if one cannot effectivly use them? It would seem to me that the more the machine does it's cleaning/maintenance routine the more apt it is to wear out the printhead and use excessivly more ink. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
