Ricoh has announced a new monochrome inkjet press—the RICOH Pro VC40000. It joins the full-color Pro VC40000 family, a new K-only platform that brings added depth to Ricoh’s inkjet lineup. Based on conversations with print providers—and with K-only print volumes continuing to exceed 300 billion pages annually—Ricoh worked closely to develop a solution for producing high-volume financial, transaction, direct-mail and pre-printed shell applications.
This new high-speed press prints up to 2,500 letter images per minute with 600 x 600 dpi. This allows printers to produce high-volume monochrome applications 50% faster, at speeds of 180 m/min (590 ft/min)—compared to the Pro VC40000 color platform’s 150 m/min (492 ft/min)—delivering faster turnaround for increased monochrome-only throughput.
